We are off 1 December, and can't believe our luck that a shuttle is due to launch whilst we are there.

I can't see from the Nasa site what time this is due to launch:

I am sure I saw the time a few months ago - help please! :confused2

Thanks

It did say 4.30pm previously, but I bet it will be delayed. We are there at then too. We saw one that weekend last year when we were there - it was in the evening and was an amazing sight.

We will be there then!!!! Is this an easy drive to the space center???

From what I gather it's a really easy drive, only problem is that there are thousands of other cars on the road so it can take several hours to return home.

We are planning to see it from either Cocoa Beach or Titusville as there will be some things to keep our 5 year old amused, as I think he would find it boring waiting for it to happen.

We nearly saw one several years ago but it was postponed to the next week and we were in the Bahamas then on a cruise.

fingers crossed this time.

Hi hubby and I are travelling from Gatwick on the 5th for one week and our main reason is to see the shuttle! We were in Florida in June and saw a shuttle on the launch pad, decided there and then to return to hopefully see a launch!! We are hoping to get tickets to go to the space centre, but otherwise it will be a beach somewhere I guess. Hope to see some of you out there!
PS if we miss the launch then we will have to spend the week christmas shopping.............. he he he

Hope it's delayed until after we get there on the 10th ;) We saw it from the balcony of The Quality Inn Plaza on I drive in Dec. 2001. It had been delayed a couple of times then but it was still a magnificent site even from Orlando. We just watched the countdown on the local news.

Thanks for the info jackie 4885 - much appreciated.

Can't wait for it, and if it's postponed hope it isn't after our holiday!
