Thanks C & D! Which ship were you on? We are on the Sensation. Ports of call are Nassau (been before) and Port Lucaya - the reviews I've read of there arent over grand. But where in the Bahamas isnt nice for goodness sake! Compare to rainy Newcastle! :wavey:

Hi,
We went with Carnival in the summer and were rerouted to Nassau thanks to Hurricane Dean. The Sensation was in at the same time as us. It looked very nice.
We aren'r great fans of Nassau but went to a beach resort for the day which was very pleasant.
We loved our cruise and will definitely be going with Carnival again.
Wish I was going with you!!

Hi Debs

its a few years ago now, but it was the carnival triumph and we did mexico, grand cayman and jamaica. we had a fantastic time, the ship was very relaxed, we were on over new year and had two formal evenings, one of which was new years eve, the children had a ball :) and we have yet to go back. The only reason we have not been back, is there has been so many other things to do.

Thanks guys! Been on the Carnival website and it does look pretty good. Will defo do a beach trip in Port Lucaya and venture alone in Nassau. Got some pretty good 'copy' designer hand bags at the straw market last time!

PS I want to live in Brock House!! :wavey:

Hi again Debs

I've actually gone and booked the carnival sensation for the 25th!

Done and dusted now!! At last

I emailed carnival about where kids were allowed on the ship in the evenings (remember? - thanks for the good advice by the way)) and they sent back a nice email to me saying they are allowed everywhere!

Not sure which trip(s) to do in Nassau. Had a look at the list, but there is so many!

Not long now!!! :spin: :wavey:

We just took a 6 night trip on the Carnival Liberty on the 9th Sept, we booked it about a month in advance. It was our first time cruising and cant wait to go again it was fantastic :) . Already looking at the Carnival site to book for next year. We cruised from Fort Lauderdale to Key West, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. I would have quite happily stayed on ship the whole time. I was worried as cruising used to have a snooty feel to it, NOT so, at least on the Liberty it wasent, never felt out of place once. Everybody was so freindly and couldnt do enough for you. We never did the Formal night on ship and judging by the people dressed up i reckon only about a quarter of the passengers did.
Have a great time , as im sure you will. :)

We loved the formal nights on the Legend. DH had to wear a blazer and tie and the DDs loved wearing their posh frocks as did I. Most people on board spiffed up and went along.
I loved the singing and dancing waiters. Can't wait to go again- I felt thoroughly spoiled!!

Hi

I am looking at prices for next June for the Sensation for 4 days and prices are £301 p/p for an outside view cabin. US website are offering it for slightly less.

I wondered whether I would get it any cheaper if I booked nearer the time?

Thank you :)

If you are looking at vacationstogo, then I would guess that they would come down, but the dollar is good at the min, so it's a gamble! :wavey:

Hi debs1505
This was through the carnival website, I did have a look at the vacationtogo website but I was put off by them contacting me by phone. I would rather look myself than feeling I am possibly wasting somebodies time if I don't book through them

Lesley..Vacationstogo will do your quote via Email..Not phone, so do give them a try as I'v found them really competative!
You only need to speak to them on the phone if you actually book with them to give CC details & then its a Free phone number from here in UK direct to them in US!

We've booked twice with them now and also booked my parents Carnival cruise through them as they were best rates!

Nothing to lose in asking for a quote!

(BTW...They were much cheaper than direct with Carnival for my parents cruise!)

Ditto what Sally says! Only ever get an email total price quote and speak if/when you book. Freefone number which puts you through to Texas! Never found cheaper! :wavey:

Hi Debs1505 - we have also booked on the Sensation from P/C on 6th January 2008 for the 4 night cruise. Our management company reps went in May and said it was fantastic - a very family orientated ship. The Captains Banquet is an ideal excuse to get dressed up - though with two young children I don't think it is for us this time. So looking forward to it and would appreciate your comments - looking at doing the snorkeling trip to the pirates cove or swimming with the Dolphins - some reports say it is more interactive than Discovery Cove.

Hope you have a great time.

I went in the year 2000 and my children were 6 & 7 then (they loved camp carnival) and cried there eyes out when they had to leave the ship (as they had such fun) :spin:
