Hi all
Have never been to Disney before with the children and while we are there next year it will be my twin boys 7th birthday. I would like to make it special for them by having a meal or something in one of the Disney parks, character meal etc. I have 3 boys in total so think a princess meal at the castle is out - but dont know what else there is.
Can anyone suggest anything suitable.
Many thanks
Michelle xx

Oooohh sorry yeh....thought somebody with better experience might help but here goes.......
My boys enjoyed lots of the character meals but with their personalities I reckon for a birthday treat something else would suit them better. They enjoyed 'Ohana's and Cape May but also had a fab time at Whispering Canyon for something in different surroundings. Apparently Universal do a good character brekkie with Spiderman and Cat in the Hat etc.....a bit better for boys maybe.
However, my two lads had a great time at Dixie Stampede as they got chosen to take part and ended up with lovely medals.
What about Pirates dinner & show.
Also for my youngest all he wanted was for somebody to sing to him and make a fuss in a restaurant .....the staff in TGI Fridays didn't let us down...my son loved it especially the pretty waitress who gave him a kiss (he's just turned 6). We also took both boys to CHUCKECHEESE and it was so cheap as I'd signed up for vouchers off their internet site and we got 100 tokens for $8 plus they gave DS a balloon and crown and Chuckycheese (mouse bloke) sang happy birthday and did a little dance.
It was arranged very ad hoc as my son had already had a birthday tea party and we had another play area one arranged for September with his school friends so something simple was fine for us.
Other places like Olive Garden will also sing and bring out a cake on request too .... :D
Hope you manage to find something suitable for your boys.....
I'm sure loads of people will come on soon with more special ideas. :wavey:

Its my wifes 40th when we go, so I booked a meal in Cinderellas Castle.
dont think this will be any good for 2 boys tho, as its all the disney Princesses there.
If you look on the Disney website theres loads of places where you can eat with a disney charector, just find somewhere with one that they like.
Also, theres a Daytona resturant at Universal City Walk.
What are they intrested in - might help people give you recomendations.
Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Like the sound of spiderman and cat in the hat. They do like power rangers and spongebob, but dont think they have them at disney.
Will take a look on the disney site.
Thanks again

The Spiderman etc one is at IOA and doesn't usually get too busy unless you are there at a very popular time.
We are trying it in a few weeks

Over the last 3 years my DD has been luckly enough to have her Birthday's at Disney. We went to CRT the first time and last year Chef Mickey's.
To cut the long story short - we went this year for our DS Birthday (8) - he chose the evening meal and out of everywhere we have been over the last 2 years he chose Chef Mickey's. I think that speaks for a (then 6,7) year old boy.
We had a lovely time on his Birthday this year and the characters are great. Lots of fun and freedom for the kids to return to the buffet as many times as they like (sorry & the adults :tounge: ).
He chose Chef Mickey's but we have had lots of lovely meals within Disney and all have been great.
Happy planning :D

We went to Chef Mickeys for breakfast in August for my DS's 5th birthday, he loved every bit of it especially as all the characters really made a fuss of him . My other DS who is 7 also relly enjoyed it and has asked if we can do the same thing for his brothers 6th birthday which it looks like we will be doing.
They gave him a special place mat with all the characters signatures (I think it's also to point out who is having a birthday so they know who to make a fuss of). They bring over a cup cake with a candle and everyone in the restaurant did the napkin dance for him which made his day.
They also gave him a badge saying it was his birthday with his name written on. When we went in to MK for the rest of the day virtually ever employee must have come over to wish him a happy birthday. He was amazed, he kept asking how do they know my name? forgetting it said it on his badge.
I think your boyd would really enjoy most of the character meals, i can imagine twins will get even more fuss made of them.

We went to MK last year for DD 15th birthday. She was given a birthday badge and lost count of how many chocolate sundaes she had. Her birthday was stretched over 4 days. This year will not be the same on her birthday.

Thanks for the replies everyone, looks like it it Chef Mickeys then. Do you have to let them know when booking about their birthdays or on arrival - I was hoping to book over here before we go. I think it is 120 days before you can book an ADR is this right?
Thanks again.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it might be 180 days before you can book. When you check in at the front desk at Chef Mickey's you just need to tell them it's a birthday meal. We did tell the CM when we booked but I don't think she noted it down. The huge 5 on Nathans badge was also a give away!!!

Michelle ....I think it's 180 days in advance that you can book ADR's and possibly +10 if staying on Disney Property. Not 100% sure though.
