Hi,

I enquired a while ago about hiring a Harley and can highly recommend it.

We hired a Vrod and a Low rider from the dealership opposite Old Town.

Cliff sorted us out with helmets and bikes, very helpful and put as at ease as they are very different to my Triumph Sports bike in the UK.

We cruised 'I drive' with our daughters and took a trip to Melbourne to see Billy Lane at Choppers Inc. Unfortunately he is only open Daytona Bike Week and Oktoberfest. Damn but well worth the 120 mile cruise.

The Vrod was not comfy for pillion if travelling a distance but at 30mph you can have a conversation like you are in a car!!!!

A couple of Pics.... We will be hiring again next visit.....

(Edit)
Forgot to mention, We had to leave a $1000 deposit each on out card but final cost including additional $5 each, to be insured on each others bikes, $288..... £75 each for 24hrs including full cover insurance, only extra was petrol. We used $30 between us both.

please... i must hide this from dh. he is always on about hiring a harley and the frightening thing is at 66yrs he still can although he hasn't ridden a bike for 45yrs. his motorcycle liscence is still valid. although i wouldn't mind hiring one of those threewheel armchair type bikes, honda goldwings? you sound to have had a wonderful time, i bet dd were impressed!

Here's ours, I had the Road King, Ali had the 1200 Sportster. Thoroughly enjoyed the day even though we got soaked in the rain. The Low Rider looks good, although I never did fancy the Vrod. £75 is not a lot for a days fun.

Both look nice...

I notice you had shorts on, did you not burn your legs cos i got very warm legs through my jeans on the vrod while riding and the tranny cover or exhaust while stood still on the low rider...

Still an awesome experience......
