View Full Version : gatwick hotels
Has anyone any recommendations about a hotel suitable for a family with 2 kids ?
Also want parking with it, and am becoming comfused as to which hotel offers what! DOn't want to spend too much as it's only 1 night, but need something to occupy us all as we will be so excited the night before!

Have a look here Holiday Extras (https://www.holidayextras.co.uk/coastdirect/abcdirect.asp?agent=WX382)
We are booked at the Gatwick Hilton for the night before we travel, they are based right at the airport. I cannot recommend them exactly as this will be a first for us too, but they've had good reviews. We do not need parking, but they do offer it.
Hope this helps

Hi
We have booked thru flightparks and are staying in Gatwick Europa. It is not on site I think it is about 4 miles from airport. we are going next week so dont know what it is like. Cost £99 with 15 days parking for family room (2 adults + 2 children), parking hopefully onsite however if full @ airport.

Depends if cost is an issue,I always stay Hilton if flying from South Terminal or Le Meridian from North.
Both connected to Airport via walkway so kids will not be bored.
Stevie50 is spot on - as long as cost isn't too much of an option.
We stayed at Le Meridien this year - our thoughts and a pic of the room is here. (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16675)
Thanks to everyone who helped. Would like the Le Meridian but always feel hotels cost far too much - but perhaps we will book it just this once!
HAs anyone tried the last minute.com (I think) they seem to have much cheaper rates, but not sure if we should leave booking a hotel room at gatwick until last minute. NOt going until Late NOv. so shouldn't be too busy.
once again many thanks
Michelle

Hi Seren
I dont know if this is of any help to you, but I have used Lastminute.com for concert tickets and found them to be ok, didnt send tickets out till the lastminute...LOL;)
I have not used them for hotels though.
We booked a family room at the Southbourne Gatwick, a beutiful little guest house in Horley, about 6 mins to Gatwick. You get a Family room with en-suite, all the facilitys. A full breakfast in the morning, 16 days parking and a free pick up and return car to the airport for £95 and only £55 without parking. The hotel is close to all the shops and the staff couldn't do enough to help you! I have the phone number somewhere so if you want it PM me!
