View Full Version : Blackpool for the day?
Apart from the pleasure beach can anyone recommend what to do as we are only going for the day. We are planning to get there early on the saturday and stay until late so we can see the lights. Only thing i think we are not up for is swimming and yes that includes in the sea :omg: :pgig:

A Saturday night seeing the lights!!The queues will be long and it will probably take you a couple of hours-I know cos I can see them out of my sitting room window :) If you do this go really late if poss cos its a little quieter, and do north to south cos the best bits are at the northern end and if you get fed up after the Tower you can go home having seen the best bits
Shopping and then the Pleasure Beach or Sealife center. Blackpool can be an expensive day out. Yes begin the lights at the Bispham end, or even use the trams.

Be careful what shops you go into with the kids, we went to get DDs a stick of rock only to see some in a certain shape that were aimed at the hen party goers!

If you are driving there is a Continental Market on at St Annes.
Freeport Shopping Village at Fleetwood.
If you are bringing kids Angelina Ballerina is on at the Grand Theatre.
Blackpool Zoo.
Personally I would think that the Pleasure Beach, Sealife, The Tower Building and into the centre for something to eat (West Coast Rock for an American Diner hit) would keep you more than busy for the day.

We spent the whole day at the pleasure beach, bought wristbands which included all rides and the 2 shows, it was gone 9pm by the time we had seen the shows, we then rode the tram as far as Bispham where we were staying then all the way back to the start so we saw them all. Have fun.
Hope you had a good time.
I have been for the past 2 weeks (staying at a dignified distance in St Annes).
I love Blackpool and it's glorious tackiness...I could play on the Arabian Derby all day!

Oh get on the first road out of the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sea life centre's good, Pleasure Beach too, not many good shops though in the centre now, Tower Buildings are good but pricey if you aren't staying in for the day. Greetings from Blackpool but apart from the above I don't know why anyone would want to come here.
