Going back very soon :D :D and would love to do DD but have always got to the queue in the past and bottled out!!! Did the Hulk and loved that :thumbs-up . My problem is with rides that give you that stomach in your throat feeling! I hate drops!!! wont do TOT or Dr DOOM, but loved Hulk and R&R!!!! Loops and corkscrews are fine its just drops that terrify me! :confused2
The big drop at the start of DD is whats scaring me!

Cheers for any replies!!

I am EXACTLY the same as you I love everything about a rolldercoaster but BIG (steep) drops give me the stomach in mouth feeling which I DO NOT like!!!

Have you been on Kraken? The drop on that is worse although I loved that ride too.

I think you would be absolutely fine they are big drops but IMO they aren't as steep as some so don't give me the undesired feeling.

You won't notice the drop because you twist half-way down it. I hate the drops but didn't notice it. The sensation of there being 'no floor' was a new one for me (at the time). Hard to explain........it's all 'swingy'. :pgig: Definately do it, though. If you can do Hulk................you can do Dragons. :thumbs-up

Know what you mean, I get that going up the huge climb and everytime I have my eyes shut and no-one must speak to me. once I get the the top of the drop I am fine.

I think the DD is easy peasy but I would never do the Hulk. Well at least I have always said that I wouldn't but I am going to try next time :erm:

You'll be fine as DD is not as bad as Hulk. I prefer Fire to Ice as it seems a bit smoother and you really don't notice the drop...now Sheikra that's another story ;)

I'm scared of heights, but I have done DD many of times, it looks alot worse than it is. To be honest the bit I hate the most is the slow steady climb to get to the top, once I'm racing back to earth its all fun. The Hulk is so much easier, no slow climb to the top, it just shoots you out at 60mph, thats a big rush :) .

If you do dare to go DD, to get the most out of it imo
the back of FIRE and the front of ICE is the best way to do it :)

Hulk is much worse (bumpier) than Dueling Dragons.

Ice is the best of the 2 dragons, but you have to ride both!

DD is a brillant ride, ICE is the best side for me, slightly more intense than FIRE, dont worry about the drop its all over before you know it.

Duelling Dragons is smoother BrerVixen says, the ride system it runs on is excellent and the same as Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park in sunny Surrey!

Ugh - Nemesis Infero sucks, not a patch on the original Nemesis (my fave EVER coaster)

Having left the Hulk out for years, I did it last year and loved it. I have always gone on DD but IMO it is much worse and less smooth than the Hulk.

My DD'd comment when she came off Dragons was priceless " it feels like the bones have gone from my legs"
She loved it..

We did ICE in the dark and FIRE in the daytime. ICE in the dark is an amazing experience. If you can do Hulk then you'll be fine on DD, honest.
The weirdest bit is when (if you actually keep your eyes open) you see someone elses feet right in front of yours. :erm:
You can watch DD on youtube if it will make you feel any better.

DD is more evil compared to the hulk, as there is more loops, its faster and obviously you get very close to the other car :D I will always love the hulk, but i don't think you can compare the two, as they are very different rides, weather you're on fire, ice or the hulk.

not long back. did DD the last time but wasnt brave enough to try the hulk. This time I did the hulk and found it very LAME !! Duelling Dragons is more exciting, especially Ice - went on that 3 times !! I hate drops - Jurrasic Park was horrible - felt so vertical !! So avoid that but the rollercoasters seem to have much "softer" drops that give you more of the "wind through your hair" type feeling rather than the "stomach in your mouth" feeling. Maybe others feel things differently. Try the Scorpian - I loved that one !!

DD is a very good coaster, so 'screw your courage to the sticking place' as someone said and go for it. If you like Hulk, you will get a thrill on DD.

Yes, there is a drop and yes it is scary, that is how these things work, but it is completely safe.

Front of ride is best, on both Fire and Ice, you only really get the impression of immanent collision at the front.

DD are really good coasters and IMHO nowhere near as scary as Hulk - my only advice is do not go for the back row of either, as the back really whips you around and is more jerky than the rest of the seats.
The first drops are smooth and because they twist, you do not get the stomach lurching that you do on Kraken or Sheikra.
If you can do Hulk, you can definitely do DD
For the record Ice is my fave but always do both.

Something not mentioned yet is the queue area. It is VERY long, don't let your nerves get the better of you in the walk, GO FOR IT - you'll be glad you did :D

I took this video footage from the front seat a few years ago, might give you an idea of what it's like.

No, and I fully understand their reasons for it as a dropped camcorder hitting someone at 60MPH probably would really injure someone.

In my defense I used a very small camera (http://www.t3.co.uk/reviews/imaging/digital_camera/vivitar_vivicam_3815_digital_camera) that fits in the palm of your hand, and I made sure that I had a thick cord attached to it that was then wrapped around my wrist tightly so that if I did drop it, it would not injure anyone else. Kept it hidden until the last security cameras on the start of the ride and then started filming.
