I've been given the opportunity of going to Dubai towards the end of the year but I'm not too sure.

I've heard there's a lot of building work going on at the moment - is it really that bad?

Aside from staking myself out on a beach and shopping is there anything else to see/do?

Thanks

Hi Clare,

I was just like you and unsure of Dubai - DH goes there for work and persuaded me to go earlier this year with DD 5 and we had a fantastic holiday. We stayed at the Dar Al Masyaf Madinet Jumeriah. We didn't do much other than beach, swimming, shopping and eating .
It was very hot :cool2: thank goodness for air con. We had lunch at the Burj - that is a must do...

We saw building work on our travels to from the airport/malls but it never once bothered us.

One of the things that I realy liked was the level of service and friendliness of all the people we met. DD said she liked Dubai more than Florida :omg:

I think Dubai is a place everyone should visit at least once...

We hope to go again early next year. Any questions fire away.

We stayed at Jumeirah Beach hotel at the begining of May for 3 nights , we loved it but really didnt do anything apart from stay by the pool and the water park , it was very very hot so dont think we could have faced up to much , but not sure there is a lot else to do there lol

We had the obligatory cocktail in the Burj , but only because it was just yards away

an awful lot of building work but it wont spoil the holiday

if you get the opportunity its a must go and see, unbeliveable place, the newest Las Vegas but bigger and better

Only place I know wher eyou can leave an air conditioned room for a 40+ degree beach in the morning before going skiing indoors in the afternoon

In 10 years time will be just like orlando without the Mouse, or maybe with him

Bit gutted, can't get the extra time off work as I've now used up all my holiday allowance with my December Disney trip

Never mind, I'll have to put this on my 'list' for the next year or 2.
