Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me a little more about these value resorts. I just have a couple of questions if anyone who has been to them can help me out.
Its just that i got a great quote from the disney website
5 nights in Pop Century
5 Day Magic your way tickets
(these do not inc park hopping as i would like to just spend 1 day at each park, also not too bothered going to waterparks, so this not inc also.)
It mentions about collecting us from the airport etc
All this in total for 720 euros.
All i have to worry about is flights & then accomodation on I Drive for the rest of the holiday.
How far are they from the parks?
Can you wander about ie what can you walk to (if not at the parks etc) ie shops & cafe's etc. Dont want to be bored just in hotel room.
What advantages are there for staying onsite.
Which of the value resorts would you recommend for 2 adults.
Whats the express where it collects you at the airport.?
How much for a taxi to IDrive for our second stay?
Is there schedules for bus to & from parks?
Sorry for all the questions, first timer here to disney & rates are looking a little too good. :)
Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa
If I remember right the furthest park from the All Star Resorts was Magic Kingdom and it was about 10 / 15 mins on the disney transport
Can't really walk to shops or cafe's but the All Star Resorts all have a food court, disney shop, arcade, pool etc and you can walk between the Sports, Music and Movies
Staying on site you get to use the free disney transport to the parks and downtown disney which is great. You can also visit the parks during extra magic hour
Disney transport is very convenient, don't thing we ever waited more that 10 mins.
Sorry don't know about Pop Century or taxis but I'm sure someone else will.
You'll have a great time wherever you choose to stay

The value resorts are the furthest from the parks, but you still have Disney buses so it's easy to get around, the longest journey to a park is maybe 20 minutes.
All the value resorts have food courts and a shop. The All Star resorts are all joined together so you can easily walk between them. Pop is on its own. You can walk to a McDonalds from the All Star resorts.
Onsite guests get Extra Magic Hours, package delivery to resort, room charging facility and use of WDW transport.
All the resorts are good, it's down to personal choice really.
Disney Magical Express is a shuttle bus service which collects you and your luggage and takes you to your resort and delivers your luggage to your room. It's free to resort guests.
Not sure on taxi fares, I'd estimate maybe $20 at most.
Buses are on demand on a continuous service, just turn up at the stop and wait.

We stayed at Pop last year.
How far are they from the parks? - Well the parks are very spread out, it is nearest is Animal Kingdom though.
Can you wander about ie what can you walk to (if not at the parks etc) ie shops & cafe's etc. Dont want to be bored just in hotel room. No not really, apart from I Drive you can't really wander anywhere in that area.
What advantages are there for staying onsite. Early Magic hours in the parks, use of the Disney buses, free park parking if you get a car. The theming is also great, esp at Pop.
Which of the value resorts would you recommend for 2 adults. Pop
Whats the express where it collects you at the airport.? Disney's Magical Express, only if you fly into MCO though, doesn't operate from Sanford. It's free and take syou and your luggae to you your hotel.
How much for a taxi to IDrive for our second stay? From Pop or the parks? Probably around $15 from Pop.
Is there schedules for bus to & from parks? The Disney buses run all the time.

We're doing a split holiday ourselves in Jan. Half on I drive and the rest at Disney. Its much better to do Disney from Disney as you can get there early, stay for fireworks late and easily get back to your hotel. If you do find yourself wanting to do something of an evening and not want to stay at the hotel, go over to Downtown, theres always lots to do there.
