hi everyone,
i have heard they have put lap bars on Dudley do-rights Ripsaw Falls at IOA i know this to be true as i have seen photos on the internet, but my question is will they drop the height restriction now these lap bars are in place.

The height restriction at the mo is 44" not sure what it as before.
The attendants on the ride said the bars had been put in place because people were getting out of the logs during the ride, not sure how true this is

DD went on this ride in 2005 and didnt like it as she said there was nowhere to hold on to and trying to grip the sides was difficult as they were soaking wet!!

My DD will be pleased, as she mentioned she wouldn't go on this again due to the lack of safety bars. She said going down the drop without a bar was very scary. :)

I love rollercoasters.....but have a major dislike of water rides, because of the lack of restraints. Drops invariably include some form of "bounce" and the feeling that you are about to lose one of your kids negates, rather than enhances, the thrill of the ride.
Its about time someone addressed this issue, so well done IOA!!!

Is it not a good idea to get out halfway through the ride then ??

trying to get out during the big drop is not a good idea ! but then again you can't get much wetter !
Can I just say that every time I see the title of this thread it makes me think of lap dancing bars LOL! :omg:

If someone got out during Dudley, it would make the show scenes on the ride a LOT better.
My OH found Dudley incredibly uncomfertable, he's 6ft and medium sized.

i have to applaud IOA for this, as when i was on the ride i was so scared & worried i was going to fall out. I had seen the big drop from a viewing point, but when on the ride i wasnt able to to enjoy the sitting characters or scenery because i kept thinking when is the drop coming. even the outside was very wet & having no grips is not a good thing.
I can enjoy the ride next time now lol

this was closed for refurb when we went - but watched a You Tube video of it - looks really good.
Do you get as wet as I think you do
Also looks as though it needed the lap dancers on there as well - something for the adults.
ohh hang on - lap bars - not the same thing :erm:

Yes, everytime we have done this ride we have come off soaking wet.
Really pleased about the lap bars, we went on in April and i was petrified and vowed never again, my feet were slipping, i was slipping and i couldnt keep hold of the little grab bits on top of infront seat. May have to have another go next time.

We think this is brilliant and last year must have spent about 40 dollars on teh water guns getting people at the end. If it wasnt for the water guns at the end people would not be so soaked.
It is fun though,

I think it was 48" before...eldest DD is just over 44" and I remember thinking it was shame she might not be big enough when we go back, good news that it's now 44"...

What Characters and Scenery? There is about 3 show scene in the entire ride... :nonono:
My DD 8 absoultuly loves this ride. It is her favourite ride. I was very nervous last year she was only just 7 when we went and I was nervous as there was no bars. I will ride this next year a lot happier with her.
