We arrived home yesterday and just wanted to let you no-- we loved this place. Yes it is huge but the grounds are beautiful and there is so much to see and do. This was our first stay on Disney and we were worried it would be a bit too twee. How wrong were we. We stayed in Barbados, it was quite along way to the Port Royal but we did not mind at all. There are so many beaches and pools to choose from. The rooms have a fridge and a ceiling fan- which was nice if the A/C was too much. Our mouse keeper was a lovely lady and helped us out with whatever we needed. The only thing i could moan ( a little) about is the beds. They are soo comfortable but they creak badly - you could not move or turn over without waking everyone up. This may have just been our room but all the beds are made of wood. I would love to stay here again- if you are booked to go here in the future i hope you love it as much as we did :wavey:

We have stayed at this resort twice now and also loved it very much. We were tempted to do it again next year but opted to try POFQ. Hope its as much fun as CBR. Never had no creaky beds mind, but i think we were so sleepy we collapsed and never moved an inch each night :d:
did the cbr 6 years ago and yes we thought it was great also,if we ever stay at a disney hotel again it will be at the top of our list
Myself and two daughters stayed at CBR in August and would also recommend it. We thought it had a very relaxing atmosphere and found it to be a welcome retreat after a day at the parks.

It was our second stay at CBR in August and we have booked again for next August. This year we stayed in Trinidad North and it really made our stay better; being so close to the food court. We don't bother with the main pool but the quiet pool and laundry was close by as well.
We noticed the creaky beds this year as well.

we stayed at CBR in August 2004 when Hurricane Frances came knocking, our first stay on site & our 1st experience of a hurricane! We all really loved it (CBR not hurricane) & I must say I think we fared really well being in Disney during the hurricane because as they have their own power/transport links etc we were only confined to the room for one day & then were able to use disney busses to get back in the parks etc (Ive never ever seen the parks so empty) whereas the local sheriffs kept the roads closed for any other traffic and we heard from loads of other people who had no power or water for 3/4 days after Frances hit. Last year however we tried POFQ & preferred the smaller setting & have booked to go back there this year.

I'm so glad you loved CRB.
It was our favorite resort before we became DVC owners. We'd stayed there nine times before, and even now still pop over just to visit and have a wonder around.:)

So, does anyone think i should try and change our hotel? Or will everyone being trying to do that, in which case the hotel should be relatively quiet? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Don't forget that each village has it's own pool, so there will be six to choose from.:)

Sickboy - you should be fine, the work is scheduled for completion on 15th September, can't seem them being a month late. I've seem some photos of it posted on another website, and it's coming on really well. :thumbs-up

We swapped to POFQ last week from the CBR. It depends where you want to be in the resort really. We wanted to be in Trinidad North the same as last year but I didn't fancy walking through the car park to the food court. If you don't mind being the other side of the lake you should be OK. Also, DS2 is disabled and loves swimming but needs space so I thought the small pools would be too crowded. The only rooms left at POFQ were Garden Views but we're OK with that.
