Looking for more advice, again.

We are going to stay at Wilderness Lodge for three weeks in April 2008 :spin: We are booking a standard room, which I think is classing as Woodland view, has anyone stayed in any of these rooms. Also we got married last year and always said we would do this as our honeymoon, would we still benifit from telling people this, or would it be too long ago.

What would be the chances of getting a free upgrade on the room if we mentioned it at check-in.

never too long ago, mention it at reception and if you get chance fax or ring them before you go and let them know it is your honeymoon holiday and you decided when you wed you were going to have the best honeymoon ever in WDW.
we just come back from celebrating our silver wedding, WDW in september but wed aniversary was in may, but the CMs loved it when we told them we were celebrating it with them. just sorry we never mentioned at the front desk when we arrived.
everywhere we went they made a fuss, went for meal at the dolphin, never said anything about anniversary, but the WDW cm who booked it for us had told them, they all came wishing us well etc, and brought us champayne from the hotel management, at CRT we told the server just as we finished our meal, he was hopping around as we had not told him earlier, off he shot and brought 2 champayne flutes enscribed with cinderellas royal table.
hope this helps :wavey:

We looked out over the quiet pool & VWL but could just about see the lake.

Always worth mentioning you're celebrating something special

Those views are ok, we would be happy with those. Last time we went Matt asked if we would be able to have a room with a king size bed instead of two queens, they said unfortunately the only one they had was one that was on the ground floor and only had a shower and no bath, designed for the disabled, this was fine with us as normally have showers anyway. Very nice room.

We celebrated our 25th at Wilderness Lodge and told them this in check in. When we returned to the room that day there was a basket of goodies and a card from Minnie Mouse. It was a very nice gesture and helped to make the trip even more special.

Cheers

Well we are booked for Wilderness lodge now :) (I now have a count down) and my husband mentioned when booking it was our honeymoon and that it be recorded on the hotel information, will this be enough??

I would still make it clear at check in.... I think I said something along the lines of "It's our 25th wedding anniversary and could they suggest anything I could do to make it a bit special" As I posted before we were left a basket of goodies and a congratulations card.

Cheers
