View Full Version : Where should we go next summer?
All being well we'll be going away with DD5 and her new brother (due 21st Feb) to enjoy our hols with next summer (anytime between April and August!).
However, we're not sure where to go! We own timeshare which we bank with Interval International so can go anywhere but I can't work out where! These are our criteria: no more than 2 hour flight away; near a waterpark for DD; warm but not too hot!
Any recommendations would be most welcome including those in the UK! :d:

Alcudia in majorca is a kids paradise
We love tsillivi in Zante its great for kids but it is more than your 2hr flight limit. Got to admit ds2 has been on lots of flights and the easiest one was his first when he was 5months old he couldnt walk or crawl and was quite happy to sit on mummy or daddies lap.

Why not try a center park? Lots of fun for all the family. There are some great ones in France, Belgium, Holland.

Centerparcs in Holland is a good call. They all have great swimming pools, but one has a brilliant indoor wet ski slope. I think it was called Kempervennen. Probably more of a weekend than 1-2 week holiday type venue though.
When our kids were very young we went to Majorca 4 years running and I don't think you can beat it. I wasn't that struck on Alcudia - it has everything, but quite brash/busy. Loved cala d'or and cala millor/bona areas.

We are getting into a bit of a habit of getting budget flights to Switzerland or Italy (Italian Lakes) for around £50pp all in. - and renting an off season villa or appartment during May/June (usually with a pool).
There are some great waterparks, and so much for kids to do.....it really opens your eyes to trying something a bit different in a very senic setting..... and lovely doing just a 2 hour flight for a change. :)
Earlier this year we went to central Switerland and did cable cars (one was up to the famous James Bond cable car station on the Schiltorn), mountain railways, the most fantastic minature railway with lots of ride on trains (Bouveret), horse & carriage rides (Interlaken), free chocolate factory tour - with loads of free sampling ! :tounge: ( Broc), a massive waterpark on the side of Lake Geneva (Bouveret again), ...it was like being in one massive theme park - there was so much to do with kids !
