Everytime I start up my laptop, I get a security box asking me if I want to run wltask.exe. I dont even know what it is but it doesnt matter if I tick or untick the 'do not show me this again, box, it still pops up. Any ideas what it is and how I can stop this popping up every time?

Strange ... wltask.exe is not showing up in usual places.

Firstly, make sure your virus checker definitions are up-to-date and run a full anti-virus scan.

If this doesn't find / fix anything, point your web-browsers at House Call (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/) and run the free scan. It'll take a while but it's a very good program for finding problems.

If there is still no joy, you could see if you can remove it from the startup. To do this ... be careful, at your OWN RISK!

Click Start / Run
In the box type "msconfig" (no quotes) and click OK
Click the Startup tab
Look down the list of startup items and see if you can see the wltask.exe - if you can, un-tick it
Click OK ... the system will ask to be rebooted.

If wltask.exe is NOT in the Startup Items list, cancel out of MSCONFIG and run a search of your hard disc for wltask.exe. To do this:

Right click the start button and click search (or Windows key & F)
In the "All or part of filename", type "wltask.exe" (no quotes)
In the "Look in" dropdown, select Local Hard Drives
Click Search

Let the search go through your hard drives. If it finds wltask.exe, please can you post back and tell us what folder it is in? If it's in C:\Program Files\ etc it might be software that has broken and you may have to uninstall / reinstall it - but we won't know about that until you find out where the file exists.

Hope this helps.
