Two things,

Minniespal, If you want to record anything that passes though your sound card there is an application called Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) which will do that.

PLUTOXX, If you use this site called KeepVid (http://keepvid.com/) you can download the file from Youtube then convert the file from the FLV format to AVI so you can look at it on your computer.

I'll try. Go to the YouTube site and find the video you want to download. Copy the address of the video and go to KeepVid and paste it into the field in the green box and click Download, underneath the green box you'll see a grey download box. Just below that there is a download link, click on it and Save as..... and save the FLV file somewhere you are able to find it again.

If you then go to Media Convert (http://media-convert.com/convert/) you will be able to convert the FLV file into any other format that takes your fancy, I usually choose AVI which seems the most efficient.

Sorry it looks a bit complicated, but it's about the easiest way I've found.

What format are you watching it in? And what player are you using?

I'm not sure that we should be hijacking Minniespal's thread because this isn't really to do with the original enquiry, maybe start a new thread?

That's OK, I don't like being beaten by a machine, computers have got to be conquered otherwise they will become the master :D

You can also use this if you have firefox web browser :-

Go to www.sothinkmedia.com and d/l web video downloader.

It can quickly capture and download web videos, streaming Flash videos, embedded Flash animations, Flash games, etc. from internet

Just a matter of interest I've found this little little application which is probably easier to use than the long winded way I first suggested:
