I'm so pleased - I just got a room in the WDW Dolphin for one night (Thanksgiving) for £89.

I had been looking out for a nice hotel as we have Thanksgiving dinner booked at Narcoossees, but DH wasn't keen, saying he would just drive back to the Villa. Also we have our Segway tour booked for the next morning. Now DH can have a drink with his dinner and we can have a night in a "Heavenly bed". (The slogan apparently goes - "The bed that doesn't let you get past page 2") ;)

Chris, that's a fantastic rate - we love the Dolphin and are going back next March. If you haven't already done so, it's worth joining the starwood preferred guest program, it's free to join at www.spg.com Just add your membership number to your booking and you may get an upgrade.

We were there for 5 nights in August, and had booked a standard room at a really low rate. When we got to checkin at 1.45 we asked was there any chance of a high floor with balcony. They checked their computer and said 'you can have a standard room now, or wait 'til 3pm for a high floor and balcony'. Well, no guesses for which option we went for - we had lunch at the Fountain and then at 3pm got the key for the room - it was fabulous with a view of the Boardwalk. We've always found that the Dolphin are great, and if they have an upgraded room they will give it to you, especially if you are SPG Members.

Any questions on the hotel, just ask, hope you have a fab stay. :D

Oh and yes the beds ARE as wonderful as they say!

Thanks for the advice Mazzy - I will join the starwood program. Not sure if i am allowed to post where I got the good rate as it is not a Dibb sponsor  , but it was one of the major hotel and flight booking websites.

I am looking forward to our stay (going to keep it a secret from DH) as if the MK gets too busy on Thanksgiving afternoon we can go back to the pool at the Dolphin. It also gives us somewhere to change out of our park clothes into the "business casual" that is required for Narcoossees.

Only 29 sleeps to go!

I think it'd be okay - you never know where you'll find the best rates for the S/D. Sometimes through them (especially if you are an AAA/AP holder), or from another website. I got a $129 rate a couple of years ago through a website I don't even like. :)

Chris - hope you get to enjoy the pool, it's fantastic. There are hot tubs as well, very relaxing. You can also rent inflatable, including the inflatable loungers to use in the pool - very relaxing and great fun. Have a wonderful stay! :D

Ok I'll tell - It's Opodo (I have had to prepay, but that's OK, we won't be cancelling)

Actually since then, I have searched on the Starwood preferred guest program booking facility and got a rate for the same day for $159 + tax + resort fee totalling $179 which is about the same - Mazzy do you think we will have to pay the state tax and resort fee at check-in, or maybe just the resort fee? The Opodo printout doesn't say - I think I'll email them.

Chris - sorry, I've only ever booked direct with the Dolphin, so I haven't a clue I'm afraid. Is there a number you can ring to ask Opodo?

Generally you pay the tax for your deposit (with the room), resort fee at check-in.
