Has anyone used this drug who has Epilepsy.
The epilepsy team what to give it to DD for the flight to Orlando. Apparently it should keep her seizure free for those days.
What side affects did you notice. Thanks

It's one of the benzodiazapene drugs - typically used as a calming agent in conjunction with other epilepsy medication. It's a short-term drug. That's about all I know about it - not one of our more common medications.

DS 2 has been on Clobazam (Frisium) for years along with his other drugs. He's on 10mg twice a day. I don't know about calming him down, goodness knows what he would be like without it then :omg:
I would try your DD on the drug before the flight in case of any adverse reactions.

clobazam is great as a short term AED eg 4-5 days but a nightmare as a long term AED. joseph had this long term - 2 years and was dreadful on it. when it was initially started he was great had far fewer seizures, but over a few months got used to the drug, it was less effective so the dose was upped. again we had a honeymoon period with the seizures then again he got used to it and the seizures went wild. this kept happening until joseph was on the highest level of the drug he could have for his age and weight.
his seizures were wild and he couldn't have any more clobazam. he was 7 and around 15 kg and on 20mg of clobazam. so we added in another drug and started to wean off the clobazam. his seizures were out of control and he ended up in hospital due to the withdrawal seizures he was experiencing. a nightmare time for all of us.
thankfully he is off it now, won't be going there again!!
but....it is good short term, as long as not used long enough or often enough for tolerance to develop.
