All of a sudden when I watch videos on my laptop the sound is too fast...like squeaky voices. This is on the likes of u-tube and even my own videos that I have downloaded from my camera. Does anyone know why this is? and how I can rectify it? thanks a lot if anyone can help
It sounds like a codec problem, did this just start happening after you downloaded an update from Microsoft?
You could try reinstalling the sound drivers, do you know what sound card you are using?

Sorry I don't know the answer to either of your questions. The laptop is an Acer 3692WLMi if that gives any clues. I have the Microsoft updates on automatic and I really don't know if this happened after one or not?
The only thing I can think of seeing as you are running XP is to have a look at your restore points and pick one on a date before this started happening.
This Microsoft site (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084) tells you how to restore the operating system.
