Any1 been to Cape Coral.
Thinking of going in 2009, already booked for Port Orleans next Sept.
I have to go in July in 2009 for my holidays.
Was at Disney this year in July and found it just too busy for the family.
So thought would do a week at WDW then a week at Cape Coral, hopefully getting a villa with a boat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
We rented a villa in Cape Coral for a few days last month as we thought we'd visit another part of the country. Went to Sanibel Beach and Fort Myers Beach. Also visited the Thomas Eddison/Henry Ford Museum. Plenty of shopping malls if you are into retail therapy. Lots of houses will boats parked in the water at their back door. Enjoyed it well enough but wouldn't rush to go back.
There is lots around Orlando without going to Disney e.g. Silver Springs, Lake Louisa State park, Bok Sanctuary etc. It all depends on what you as a family are looking for. I'm sure if you let us know what sort of things would interest you, everyone will chip in with suggestions.

Hi
Have gone to cape coral twice a year for the past three years.Doing 3 weeks at xmas. The wife and I love it but everybody to there own. You have to remember the nearest beach is 12 miles away Fort myers. But for me you can't beat Sanibel Island at 14 miles one of the best beaches on the gulf coast but you have to pay $6 return toll fee.The fishing on Turners beach is great and loads of shells for the wife while i am catching the evening meal.
You can take a trip to Keywest on the Key West Express
http://www.seakeywest.com/ really worth a visit. We did it by car but it's such long way.Stayed at a lovely place called Duval house just walked in and booked you get it half the price rather than booking in advance.
