We tried an awesome blossom onion whilst on holiday last week at Chili's. It was so good that we had to go back for another one!!

We also tried one in the Outback, but was not quite as tasty as Chili's!!

Anyone else tried it?

I would love to have a go at making one now that I'm back at home. Does anybody know how easy it is?

:tounge: yum we love these ......dunno how to make them apart from needing a flippin' big onion :D

I agree with you Chilli's is better than the Outback version ....but Race Rock used to do a tastey one too ...shame it's shut down.

I am dying to try one of these as it looks so good ... if chilli's is better then we will certainly head here instead (was planning to go to Outback)

I agree, they are a must have for us.

Chillis actually took the Awesome Blossom off the menu a year back but quickly added it back on so i guess they got some severe feedback (including an email complaint from DW)!!

Dont know if anyone remembers these but (until about 8 years ago) the Olive Garden did a starter called Italian Scallions which were battered fried onions. These were the best onion starter ever. They disappeared never to return (along with all the veal dishes)

Thanks for the link to Lakeland. What a fantastic gadget!

I wonder if it's as good as it looks? At that price it's worth a try.

My mouth is watering at the thought...!!

Take a look at this thread (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=162884&highlight=bloomin+onion). There is a photo and I've posted a recipe that you may want to try if you buy the gadget in the UK.

There is further information on the 2nd page of that thread.
