View Full Version : Quick question re Villa rental
Hi!
We are in the early stages of planning our next trip to Florida in October 2008. What I'd like to know is when renting a villa is it usually a certain day that rental commences and if so which day. And is it strictly week rentals as we would possibly be looking at 9 days? Still early days but would like to know where the land lies.
Thanks

I think most villa owners are really flexible. Unless they are lucky enough to be fully booked and in demand all year round then I can't really see how they can say Saturday arrivals only. You might just find that your rate wouldn't be quite so favourable per night as a two week booking if you only go for nine days.

We are always busy but have always been flexible as I think it is essential, if you believe in customer service, to try and accommodate people.
If an owner wants to make sure regular maintenance and deep cleaning takes place, it also means that the odd day here and there are going to be blocked off and that means that Saurday to Saturday bookings get disrupted anyway.
As already mentioned, the only thing that you may have to accept in a shorter booking might be a less favourable rate, especially if, in accepting your booking, an owner cannot rent out the odd days left. However, many of us only charge short stay surcharges for periods of 5 days or less.

We could accommodate a 9 night rental no problem at all :)
Happy planning!
Hi :wavey:
Like others have said, you should have no problem renting a villa for a 9 day holiday. Most owners are flexible on the arrival days as we realise flights can be cheaper & more convenient for some people mid-week.
Why not put a general enquiry for your dates and then you can get an idea of prices and availability.
I'm sure you will be spoilt for choice & are sure to get a wonderful personal service from a Dibb advertiser
Good luck & happy planning :spin:

Hi Susie,
Every owner is different and the odd few do have set arrival days for some reason.
However, as everyone says, most owners are very flexible and many guests now choose midweek flights because they are generally cheaper. Also, with the use of scheduled flights such as BA and Virgin, guests are not limited to a set week or fortnight.
Depending on when you are thinking of in October, don't leave it too late to book if you want a Dibb villa - October is very popular and gets booked quite quickly. We have been booked for 3 weeks in October 2008 for the last year now.
Happy hunting.
Hi! Thank you all for your replies. I am intending booking a Dibb villa but just need to get a few things organized first. As soon as I have firm dates I will post my request.
Thanks again.

Hi Susie,
We too accept rentals starting and finishing on any day of the week, we would have no problems accepting a 9 night booking if we had the availability.
Have fun choosing once you decide on yoru dates.

As everyone says flexibility is absolutely essential.
Also agree with getting in there early - that way you get the biggest choice. All the villas are fab but it is nice to know you have every box on your wishlist ticked :thumbs-up

Hi there, you might like to think about booking 10 days as most UK flights do not leave until about 7pm or sometimes later. If you book 9 nights you have to be out of the villa by 10am, booking that 10th night you can enjoy your villa all day and head for the airport when you are ready. Not when the maid is banging on the front door.
I can help you with however many nights you choose. Thanks
