er....... dilemma! Thinking of buying a laptop for my Dad in Walmart - Seen one at $500. I'm coming back from our hols on my own so only have the £145 allowance.

this is the way things have been for a while i have never seen anyone being pulled over in my past 5 trips, esp in manchester oct 2005 the trolleys were over loaded shirley

oh! I want one of those cameras mentioned in the link...would it be too obvious casually walking back through customs with it round my neck...pretending I'd owned it for ages? :grin:

I brought back a new case full of birthday and christmas presents two weeks ago. I'm glad they were all asleep.lol!!!

lol... a good little read... I think the whole thing is silly, charging us for goods we paid for on money that was taxed when we earnt it and taxed when we save it... and again taxed when we buy it over there
