New Shopping Mall Open

For those of you who like to try new shopping venues, a new mall has opened. It is called Winter Garden Village. It is on CR535. It is about a 15 minute drive from WDW property. Leaving WDW property and facing The Crossroads, turn left onto CR535. At the first light (Shell station on the corner), turn left. You will still be on CR535. Continue on CR535. Along the way, you will pass Reams Road, Chase Road, Summerport and eventually Stoneybrook Parkway. Just beyond Stoneybrook, you will see the new mall.

Not all the shops are open yet, but they will all be open soon. Some of the stores there include, Super Target (largest one in the state of Florida), Lowes, Best Buy, Jo-Anns Super Store, Marshalls/Home Store, Bealls, Sports Authority, Pets-Smart, Party America, Old Navy, Famous Footware, Kirkland Home, Barnes & Nobel, Victoria Secret and a bunch of designer clothing stores. There is a McDonalds, Macaroni Grill, Five Brothers, Starbucks, Longhorn Steakhouse, Quiznos and more.

It is an outdoor mall with parking in the center. It is very nice.

We were there the other week as it's across form Bronson's Landing where our friends live. It's very nice - not all open yet and hte restaurants aren't open but Macaroni Grill opens round about 17th of this month I think and there is a Fishbones opening too so some good places coming on. We had a quick look round Bealls and SuperTarget. You can also get to it via the 429 toll road and come off at junction 19. It's well worth a look and was lovely and quiet when we were there.

Official opening is tomorrow but even then it will not be fully open. Most of the restaurants are still to open. These include Longhorn steakhouse, Chilis, Mimi's Cafe, Panera Bread, Chipotle, Fishbones and Macaroni Grill. It is not a mall (it is outdoors) and is not unlike The Loop which was discussed in a thread a few days ago.

Joanne, did you kit your villa out with things from Kirklands? Sorry if this seems a personal question but I think we stayed at your villa (not through the Dibb*) so know the nice furniture and decor :)

Super target is a bit like a Tesco Extra store. Very big and sells mostt things. I like it a lot.

We saw the new Winter Garden Village shopping centre from the 429 as we passed yesterday. I had to agree with DW it looked very exciting even for me. We will definitely be visiting this time we are here or when we return in January. :spin: :spin:
