I'm trying to cut down on my outward luggage, in the hope that we can avoid the second bag drop at MCO. (Any more news on that BTW?) Not bothered on the way back, I'll just buy another case. ;) Anyway, my battery charger (for AA & AAA batteries) is quite bulky and every little helps so do they sell these in Walmart, thought a smaller one with one of those nice small US plugs on we could use this trip and on future US trips. I can't remember ever seeing them, but then I haven't been looking for them in the past. :D

American stuff is often not multi-voltage, so you can't use it here or Europe and if it is bulky you won't want to take it back with you next time.

You can get a really small AA/AAA charger in Dixons (Curries) which expands to take the batteries, fits UK and American sockets and runs on 110/220V

If you are trying to save weight, consider lithium batteries. These last 5 or 6 times longer and actually weigh slightly less than alkalines. You might get away with just one set.

Walmart sell everything!! as for the bag drop at mco it's only if you dont have a big case, you have to be able to get it on the escalator which is narrow at the bottom, I put our big cases on the belt (coz i was told to) but the good thing about it they were out real quick at the other end maybe because not so many bags go this way anymore!! swings and roundabouts!!

You will be able to get a charger in Walmart or Walgreens. It won't be any smaller or lighter than a UK one though.
