Hello All,
We are going to Orlando next May and as Discovery Cove is high on the "to do" list then now is the time to start thinking of buying tickets. To be honest I find the whole ticket thing a bit confusing, Flexticket this Ultimate that! you know what I mean. But just as I've worked it all out and decided on what to buy my Brother confuses me again stating that we should wait and buy our tickets when we get there as the exchage rate means we will get a much better deal!! Help what do you think, while I can see his point that we might save money I worry that we might spend half of each day over their queing for tickets.
Thanks :wavey:

yes it is i agree - it is such a fab place too much to do and not enough days!
if you have decided discovery cove - it is great
you could buy your tickets from mapleleaf and get a good rate or other us based ticket dealers then you do not have to queue as you will have those tickets in hands ready to go - have a great time

The only downside of doing this would be that the exchange rate isn't guaranteed to be as high when you go in 6 months (unless you have "pre-booked" your holiday cash at todays rates!!).
Maybe as suggested above, pre-book tickets with a reputable US vendor now so that you get both a cheaper deal and peace of mind knowing you have tickets prior to leaving the UK.

I wouldn't like to wait until you get there, but I would definitely compare prices with a US broker to prices with a UK broker.
there is a link at the top of the tickets forum showing lots of different options available to you. If you are doing Discovery Cove then I wouldn't get the flex ticket, I would look at the Universal 7 day for $89 tickets (http://secure.universalstudios.com/webstore/shop/ticket-selection.aspx?Merchant=UOMainOnline&SalesCategoryGroup=UOMain&SalesCategory=UOTPTLive), as you get seaworld included with DC. You can buy that now and you are paying in $ so taking advantage of the exchange rate.
For Disney, it's going to depend how many days you want. The UK deal for 14 days with hopping and water parks etc is hard to beat even with the great exchange rate, but for a shorter no-frills ticket than a Magic Your Way base ticket might be a good option.
You need to understand the differences, as a MYW base ticket doesn't allow hopping, or include water parks (they can be added for a fee) but the UK tickets do. If you don't need those features than there are savings to be made with the MYW but if you do need them, then the UK options are a good deal.
For Disney tickets in dollars, try
Undercover tourist (http://www.undercovertourist.com/united-states/florida/orlando/attractions/tickets/) or
MapleLeaf (http://www.mapleleaftickets.com/)
for the 14 day ultimate, I like http://www.floridatix.co.uk/

it prob is worth waiting until you get there, coz the rate is pretty special atm, but i personally wouldnt be able to do it, and be too nervous that i wouldnt be able to get them etc. its up to you, but i like to be planned and organised, lol.
