We can't wait!!! After much deliberation, we've decided to book Discovery Cove for Christmas Eve......!?!??! :D :D :spin: :spin: :pgig: :pgig: It's something I've always wanted to do and we thought it would make Christmas extra special for the kiddies this year. Although we've been to Orlando twice before, we've never taken the plunge (pardon the pun..!!) & done the swim and this may be the last time we'll be going for a while, so we thought we'd be silly not to do it whilst we've got the chance.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has had any experience of doing the dolphin swim at this time of year as we expect it to be cold? Any experience or advice would be very much appreciated
After reading as much as I can possibly can about it, it seems that it's best to get there around 8.00 am in the morning for check-in, before they open. Does anyone know if they then allocate you your time slot, once you've checked in or do you get to chose your own time slot for your swim?
Thanks in advance for any replies :d: :d: :d:
I'm not sure if you can still do it, but we phoned the day before and requested our swim time :)

Thanks for that, Mac. That's handy to know. I may do that if you still can.

We had a dolphin swim on Christmas Day last year and the weather was warm enough. There was a thunder storm in the afternoon and we had to get out of the water for about 40 mins. Any dolphin swims scheduled for that time were re-scheduled.
You will love it!

We noticed that Christmas Day was already fully booked on all of the available ticket sites, but we'd already arranged to go and see Ice and have our Xmas lunch at Gaylord Palms on Christmas Day, so we had either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day as an option. Christmas Eve, it was!!!
Can't wait......!?!?!?!? :d: :d: :d: :pgig: :pgig: :pgig:

Hi Carol
We did Discovery cove xmas 2005 - lovely warm day and it was one of the best days of the holiday. Due to a mix up with transport we were late arriving and ended up with a late swim. It was a bit chilly standing in water, but not too bad. Wish we had got a midday swim with the rest of the day to eat and chill. Try and get there early.
Will also be at Gaylords xmas day this year, so may see you there :)
Have you made table reservations?

I asked my kids what they got for christmas last year the other day and I think they said about 3 things, that is not what my visa said lol...
When you ask your kids what they got for christmas 2007 I bet they never forget....what a wonderful time you will all have...Our dolphin swim will stay in my mind for ever.
