Hi

has anyone got any experience on the best time to buy the following years tickets?

Most sites are advertising 2008 now, which are 10-15% dearer than this years tickets, but with the weak dollar, I would have thought the prices would be cheaper! Any thoughts??

Also, when we bought Orlando Flex Tickets last year, direct from Universal, the kids tickets were free (Now £99) - anyone aware of any likely similar promotions.

Thanks

Hi BigKid and welcome to the Dibb.

There are previous threads that mention a deal that "Orlando Ticket Deals" currently have advertised on the website. Basically, if you book with them now for 2008 before the end of November 2007, paying a 20% deposit of the total cost of tickets purchased, they will charge you the 2007 prices. And, if the prices actually come down before you go, they will give you the cheaper price.

Ticket prices usually go up in January so you may want to buy before then.

The listed ticket prices for 2008 are more expensive than the 2007 prices. I cant see anywhere that says you pay the 2007 price for 2008 tickets.

Could anyone please clarify this for me - thanks a lot.

We have booked our tickets with them paying the 20% deposit. You pay the 2008 price (on the box on the right hand side you have to change the year and the price changes), but as was said above, if the price comes down we pay the lower price but we wont pay any more if the price goes up. Not that I can see the prices coming down, but you never know..!!!!

I've just ordered with OTD with the deposit for tickets for next august I was asked what date i was going am i right in thinking that if i did not activate these tickets say until wednesday then it would be 14 days from the day they were activated?

I believe that is how it works, on all the websites I have visited whilst researching ticket prices, they all say 14 days from the first day of use. We gave our date of departure to OTD but i believe that is because you have to pay the balance 6 weeks before departure. On the confirmation we received it gave a date for the balance to be paid by.

D'oh! :confused2

On a similar thread I started, I got a reply implying there may be january ticket "sales" - presumably to improve sales figures at a quiet time of year (after xmas)...!!!? :pgig:

Just booked my 21 day Ultimate with ATD 20% + pricematch at £183/£159. Plus has price guarantee. Good deal I think.

I did some more research and Universal definately did offer free kids tickets in January 2006 when we last bought and I think the same offer was on this year. Have note in diary for Jan 2008!
