we stayed at the sheraton sand key and that was a great hotel - make sure you go to Frenchy's restaraunt on the beach - superb

We did just the same and stayed at Best Western Sea Wake Hotel and it was wonderful.

We have also stayed at a hotel very near to Busch Gardens called La Quinta Inn USF, Tampa, and that was also great. It was literally 5 mins away from BG.

Another vote for the Marriott Suites. We booked through Virgin Holidays (room only) for 3 nights, and discovered that Virgin guests get suites on the top floors which have two double beds with a living area separated by bathroom and doors - ideal if you have young children so they can get to sleep while you watch TV or have a beer.

We've stayed at both Marriot Suites and the Sheraton, both across the road from each other. They are both excellent hotels and my favourite is the Marriot. However as you are only staying one night I'd go for the Sheraton. The reason is because its on the beach whereas the marriot is across the road. I was thinking you might wat to go on the beach briefly and thats why I'd pick the Sheraton. The sunsets are amazing!

We stayed at the sea captain resort, it is small motel really overlooking the harbour. The rooms were a good size and clean and the position is lovely overlooking the boat coming in and out from the pool/jacuzzi. I think per night we paid $90.00 and it was great.

We did the same in June and stayed in the Sheraton. We've previously been here before and got married here, its a bit more expensive but imo the best, the views are amazing.

I'm just booking for a week next year, found a good site www.hotelopia.co.uk (http://www.hotelopia.co.uk), cheapest I've found. We paid over $300 per night in June
