Make sure you get there early as MK fills to capacity very quickly.

I run an Airport Transfer Company and last year when I picked up clients they told me they were turned away from MK at 10am on Christmas Day as it was already at full capacity.

I think if you stay onsite they will let you in, even if it is busy.

'There are over 12,000 parking spaces in the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot, by 10am every Christmas Day, every space is filled.'

They will close the park when it is full to capacity. I think if you are an on site guest, they will guarantee you entry to A park, but, if it breaches Health and Safety, it will not necessarily be the Park of your choice. If you do go to MK on Christmas day, you need to be there very early and expect mega crowds.

Went to MK about 5 years ago on Christmas day. We were there at 7.20am and managed to get on all the rides we wanted before 10.00am. Then we wandered and took in the atmosphere and had an early lunch (pre ADR'd) at the Crystal Palace. The Park entry had been closed. After lunch we went back to our hotel and returned around 6.00pm for the evening. Aquaintances who went on the same day couldn't get into MK as they arrived at 10.30am.

I've read on DISboards (from a CM) that there are actually 4 stages of park closure. Basically goes like this

Phase One: Day Guests who have not already purchased tickets and Cast Members using their Maingate & Silver Passes will be turned around at the Auto Plaza and told that the Park has reached capacity.

Phase Two: Currently, admission is limited to Resort Guests, Premium and Annual Passholders, crossovers and other Guests re-entering one of our Parks today. Guests using WDW Resort Transportation and Guests in taxis, will be admitted.

Phase Three: The theme park is only open to Resort Guests using Disney transportation from their Resort or other theme parks or Annual and Premium Passholders. Shades of Green and Downtown Disney Resort Area Guests using their respective transportation will also be admitted.

Phase Four: Closed to all Guests.

They went on to say that the situation is evaluated throughout the day and may be relaxed as crowds this a little, or it may stay as stage 4 the rest of the day if crowds are heavy.

Also be aware that having ADR's does not guarantee entry.

We were there last Christmas and not only MK but also AK (probably due the popularity of Everest) were closed for some of the time on at least 2 days between Xmas Day and New Year.
There are signs on the roads approaching these parks and all over Disney property advising you if they do close.

We tend to stick to Seaworld if we need a park visit on Christmas Day or as a special treat one year booked Discovery Cove.

This year we are going to have a Christmas dinner "at home" in the villa and probably not venture out at all.
