I am confussed as to what i can take on board my flight. It appears Aus are one of the strictest countries does this mean I cannot buy a bottle of water post security and take it on?

I brought water airside when i flew with Qantas last year and was able to take it onboard. Although to be honest they come around ALOT asking if you want anything so i didn't really use it!
just looked at the link, it looks to me the standard bann on liquids at ALL airports since 2006. once through security you can purchase anything from 2 lts of water to 100ml of perfume, these liquids have been checked by security and are cleared. i am sure you will have consumed a bottle of water during your fight to worry about getting into assie
it reminds me two weeks ago at Gatwick in the security que behind me was a women with two children she noticed the list of banned liquids and then asked if she didnt need to worry as she had drinks for her kids, she opened her bag and had about 25 cartons of juice OMG, then got really upset thet they told her no she had to binn it all
come on rules are rules love. this is one of the reasons for the long ques at the airports at the moment, read the rules and abide to them its easier and quicker

I agree, Gaz. But there's always one who think they can get away with it! :d:
My colleague at work flew to Portagul a few weeks back and she didn't read the rules properly and her son ended up getting a bottle of really good aftershave confiscated at the security check!
Anna - Australian immigration are REALLY strict on food stuff, you can't bring practically anything dried into the country, or fruit, so if you do have any food left when you get off the plane, just leave it on there to save yourself the hassle! :thumbs-up
