Now i do not believe this but thought i would ask you all.

My FIL was told by a lady who apparently has just come back from the magic that not to bother with MGM.
Apparently there is nothing to do there as they are pulling everything down due to its name change.
I tried to tell him i did not think that was right. I said the odd ride might be closed due to maintenance.
I do not think he believed me. so i told him i would ask the experts, you lot, to put his mind at rest.

I cant see them doing that as it would be like closing the park down, this near to Christmas???

As far as I'm aware, the only attraction that has been permanantly closed recently was Millionaire, to make way for Toy Story Mania. RnR might be down for rehab, but the rest is open. MGM/Hollywood Studios, isn't a huge park, but it has some of Disney's best shows and thrill rides, so it's defiantely worth a visit.

Thanks all :thumbs-up . I knew she had given him the wrong info, especially as we have an adr for 9th Dec.

we were at mgm last week and everything was open, the only thing having work done is where millionaire was, the street is closed while they build the new toy story ride but you can get round the other way. other than that everything is open

I agree MGM is not the biggets park and you might even have time to go to another park for that extra fix of your fav park after doinbg MGM,however it is def worth a visit. The RNRRC is just ace, and there is so much movie magic atmosphere around. Give it a go and like I said you will prob head ver to another park afterwards. x

MGM is my fave park. It's not the biggest, but that's one of the main reason's I like it. It has a slower pace and it's not so crowded. Mind you that soooo wasnt the case when I visited the park during a Star Wars convention over the Memorial Day weekend! Wont make that mistake again!

It has some fab rides. I'm not into the scary ones, the Great Movie Ride is my fave actually!

It's also looking like it's going to receive the main bulk of attention in the next few years. With Toy Story Mania coming next spring, the rumoured Ratatouille spinning coaster for '09/'10, the also rumoured new halloween event for '09, Star Tours 2, and the slight possibility of a Indy ride sometime in the future. Obviously these are all rumours at the moment, well apart from Toy Story, but it's all very exciting and great news for the park if any or all of them actually happen.

You must correct her and let FIL know that everything is fine. I never like people that take a point of view and then spin it out. Like other posts have said sure there is a rehab going on and a couple of sign changes going on but its business as normal. Hollywood Studios (as its now known) is a fantastic park!
