I have read on a trip report that if it is your first trip to MK the best way to arrive is on the ferry.

Just wondering how we get to the ferry, are there signs, do we not take the Monorail at all if planning on taking the ferry.

Also our 1st trip to MK will be to MVMCP and we plan on going to MK around 4pm. Should we take the ferry that day or wait until a day or two later when we will be having our first full day at MK. :donald_bo :tiggerbou :donald_bo :tiggerbou :donald_bo :tiggerbou

Going on the ferry takes longer to get to MK than the monorail but gives you the best view of the castle as you approach MK.

For our first time to MK we went by ferry.

You walk past the monoral entrance and the ferry is straight in front of you. I'd guess its about 100 yards or so further on and very easy to see.

On our first trip to MK we chose the ferry for the reasons you mentioned. Since then the kids have chosen the monorail for speed!

It's all really well sign posted and very fool proof. HAVE FUN.x :wavey:

For a first-timer, I'd definitely suggest taking the ferry as the view and anticipation as you approach the park is pure magic. You can always try the monorail going back later as they both cover the same journey.

Just park your car and get on the free tram which will take you to the transport centre. There you can choose to take the ferry or the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom entrance. Both methods are very clearly signposted - but as a clue, if you start walking up a ramp towards the monorail beams, rather than down towards the water, you're not probably going to find the ferry... :)
