We are off to NY this Friday
Staying until Wednesday and cant wait to see the Xmas Tree at Rockerfeller Center. Weve never been before so are planning on doing all the touristy stuff, Liberty, Empire State, Central Park and lots of shopping! also going to see the Lion King show. Anyone with any questions I will be pleased to answer any on my return.
You are going to love it, we went last year about this time, but the city will be gridlocked, on the way home to JFK it took nearly two hours which is a distance of just over 20 miles. Thank heavens for the subway.

Oh my, did it really :omg: We are flying into and out of JFK. Hired a limo to meet us and take us to the hotel - Affinia Dumont - hopefully it wont take us too long to get there. Had better leave more time to get back to the airport I think! Thanks for the info

I would love to try the ice skating, bit im not a small lady :erm: and am worried incase I fall over!
Surprisingly it didn't take long to get there, I think because it was evening and all the traffic was leaving the city.
If there is a next time when we go I said we would get the Airtrain to the subway station and return the same way, much quicker and the subway is really easy to use.
We are also off to New York on Friday :spin: :spin:

Have a good time, hope the strike on Broadway gets sorted for your show
It's not always cold in NYC this time of year, this was taken on 14/12/2006 from the top of the Rock, the temperature was 15°C Hot! :

we went on 9 dec 05 and there was 3 ft of snow when we got there, it was amazing, especially central park! Make sure you include Grand cENTRAL STATION IN YOUR ITINERARY, and have a meal in the Oyster bar there, which is down in the underneath bit - AMAZING!

I just got back on Friday and weather was very pleasent. I was at The Tudor Hotel on East 42nd St, it was great hotel and easy reach of everything. They were just taking the scafolding down from around the tree in and the ice rink was a mass of people, it was thanksgiving week so it was busy. Click the pic for bigger view. Enjoy

Thanks!!! :)
Did you have to pay any waiting time or was it quick to get through customs etc? I looked on their site and it says they wait 45 minutes....that doesn't seem very long.
