Hi Guys,

Can anyone let me know in advance which rides are unsuitable for larger ladies? You know what I mean, seat belts don,t fit seats too small, that sort of thing. Its easier to know which rides to walk by rather tha be embarrassed!! :pgig:

I know at Universal there are a few rides which have seats out front that you can try. I've never had a problem at Disney but it would depend on how large you mean. I have seen some very large people around Disney who seem to be doing most things.

there is a good article on All Ears which may help
http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ridsiz.htm

if you click on the parks on the left it lists each ride and the seats and comments from people who have riden.

Katherine, there is a lovely Dibber who's name is Madmilomutt. If you do a search for her she has done a couple of trip reports and in one of them she reported on the size of the seats on the rides. Well worth a read. Don't worry, you will have a great time :thumbs-up

I think you should be ok. I have seen lots of people in WDW who make Dawn French look positively svelte!

I'm a size 22/24 and fitted on everything easily at Disney, at Universal I fitted on everything easily too, at IOA there are seats outside Dr Doom Fearfall, Hulk and Duelling dragons - I tried for research sake to sit in the Hulk larger seat and fitted ok and the belt did up. I was quite miffed because this was my excuse for not doing the ride!!! Still didn't do either of these 3 though.

Also Kraken is the same at Seaworld, I went on it in 2004 and fitted ok, but was sick straight after so never ventured on it again!!

Don't worry about your size you really will fit on the majority of things.

Hi :wavey:

You should be OK at Disney, but it depends on your dimensions for the other parks...I watched a short girl, who LOOKED heavier than me fit on a ride at Busch Gardens that I didnt...I needed the "Big Bird" seats...

I think it was cos Im tall (5ft9")as well as hefty, (size 24!). I found that on the rides with overhead bars that meet a safety belt between your legs,I needed the bigger seats which are row 5 or 6...just ask the ride attendant, but its the same rows on all the rides....I tended to make a joke of it...and noone laughed or pointed at the fat girl!!

If you are anywhere near my size you will need bigger seats on the Hulk, and Duelling Dragons....try to sit beside a smaller person on the rapid type rides. I sit beside my DH who is 6ft 2 and normal size and the seat belt closes, but it is at full extension...so dont sit beside anyone else husky on this ride.....

If you are worried, go for the bigger seats on the rides cos its not just the bigger people who use these....I saw a poor guy queue for the front row of the hulk, then couldnt fit the seat...he had been waiting ages...they put him to the other platform, and then put him in the bigger seats on the next train....

Dont worry if you dont fit anything, they are very discreet...no big announcement "we are delayed due to the fat bird in row 2"

You will have a great time...they are more than used to dealing with the larger person, and however big you are, there is someone bigger behind you....relax and enjoy your holiday, and if I can help any more give me a shout!!! :thumbs-up :thumbs-up

I'm a very big bloke the only ride I did have trouble with were Duelling Dragons and Hulk at IOA with the normal seats but thy hae discreet signs on these ride that tell you of larger seats (the 2 middle ones out of the 4) in rows 5 and 6 just queue for these rows (you can choose the rows you want).

In Busch Gardens I was ok on all the rides but I did find Kraken and Hulk a bit of a squeeze due to my big (.)(.) It's the over head bars that are the problem for me.

I am a mere 5xl (25st) and I fitted on all of the Disney rides.

However, there are a few Universal rides (can't remember which ones) that I could not fit on.

I loved Florida and felt comfortable there - unlike the UK.

Enjoy.

I used to weigh 80 pounds more than I do now, and didn't have any major problems fitting into anything.

I am a size 22/24 and I have not had any trouble at all fitting on any of the rides. You will be fine. There is always someone bigger than you out there and the staff at Disney or Universal do not bat an eyelid.

Just go and have a great time and try not to worry.

Apparently, Disney have sample cars out the back for people to try for test track, Soarin and a couple of others- its out back so you don't feel embarrassed with everyone staring! Just ask an attendant.
I'm sure you'll be fine, and will have a great time!

Min, I love your humour - "we are delayed due to fat bird in row 2" - made me crease up.

At Busch Gardens the seats for hefty people on Sheikra have two safety belts! First time on I didn't know these were special seats and thought it must be because Sheikra is so dangerous.

My wife was 22/24 when we went in 2005, she goes on all adult rides and has never had any problem in any park.
