Has anyone ever booked DLP on their own using the internet, if so where is the cheapest place to look for the on-site hotels and transfers from the airport.

I always book everything separately, usually over the internet. I use the disneylandparis.co.uk website for booking accommodation as it includes park tickets. If you don't want tickets, you could book through expedia.co.uk who have options with and without tickets.
Transfers from the airport can be via VEA shuttle bus, train or private transfer.
We usually use the VEA which takes around 35-40 mins from Charles de Gaulle and you can either buy tickets online at www.vea.fr/uk or from the driver. Buying a ticket in advance won't guarantee you a seat on a particular bus though so it doesn't really matter which option you go for.

We booked with the Holiday Inn direct.
Flight with Air France worked out cheapest.
Booked ourselves on the TGV for speed to Marne La Vallee.
Got tickets from ATD.

This worked out at a good price.
