We are going for 3 weeks in Aug next year and staying on-site (although have yet to book accomodation)
Would there be any advantage to buying Annual Passes? Are the benefits such that it may even be worth just one of us (i.e. ME! :D ) having a pass?
My husband has just bought an annual pass, I dont know the full benefits until he comes back but for us we are going again in May and are offsite so save $11 every time we go to a Disney Park in parking. There is 50% the Disney golf and money off certain events such as MVMCP, but unless you are going again within the year I would of thought the the best value for you would be the 21 day ultimate pass.

The discounts on events like MVMCP are also resticted to certain dates that can be viewed on the passholder site.

Check out the benefits here (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/genPage?id=PassholderBenefitsSummaryPopup) another advantage is that AP holders can buy the Disney Dining Experience card for discount on food and beverages at selected WDW restaurants. This can save you loads if you eat in WDW a lot or have a large party as it is good for up to 10 people.

As an Annual Pass holder also look out for discounted room rates.
It was worth it for us due to going twice a year and the great exchange rate!!!
Have fun
Claire
You only need 1 person in your party to be an AP holder in order to get the room discounts. I bought an AP on a recent trip while the rest of my family just had 21 day Ultimates. We were staying at AKL and saved a huge amount on the room rate, more than enough to cover the extra cost of the AP.
You can find current AP accomodation discounts at Mousesavers (http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html)

Hello Buttons,
For the time you are going next year, a 21 day Disney Ultimate ticket (adult) is approx £189. A Disney premium annual pass is approx. £290. The advantages are, disney hotel room discounts, 10% off mostly all the shops at Downtown Disney, and most of the restaurants too, such as Rainforest Cafe, Wolfgang Pucks etc. As someone else also mentioned you can get a Disney Dining Experience card as a passholder which costs approx, £30 and gets you 20% off all food and drink (alcoholic also) at most Disney sit down restaurants and lounges, (Very handy in the Polynesian bar!). You can also purchase specific Annual Passholder pins if this is of interest to you. Of course the most important aspect that many people forget when comparing ticket prices is that if you are planning to go again in 2009, as long as you holiday before August that year, you've had a second holiday for free ticket wise! Hope this helps you and have a great time.

Does anyone know which restaurants the pass gets 10% off without the added purchase of the DDE?
Does this 10% include alcoholic drinks?
Also does the AP start from the First day you enter the park or the day you purchase it?
Thanks
Nikki.
