thanks guys, but the lowrys in the city centre area, i'm looking for something on the quays themselves. going to old trafford and want somewhere in walking distance of there
david
In that case there's nothing closer than the Golden Tulip, nr the cricket ground there is The Chesters, or there is The Trafford hall Hotel a little further away.
If you definatly want the Quays then Holiday Inn Express is in The Quays itself, then it's over the bridge past Sam Platts , past the Tulip then into OT

You're right Dave the Lowry Hotel is just on the outskirts of the city centre. The only other hotel that I can think of is next to the Quayhouse pub I think its a travel lodge or travel inn.

Errm no it isn't Dave :confused2 - it's next to the Lowry Theatre and Centre - right on the Quays/Ship Canal and opposite the War Museum. Ex-hubby's office overlooks it and I've been there many times.
the lowry hotel we stayed at was by a canal, but near to deansgate, within walking distance to the MEN arena, walk over the canal bridge, up a side street and you are on deansgate and all the shops,
know where the theatre and centre are, but the lowry hotel i know is not there.

sue, think we both did the same thing, i posted reply . then thought "hang on, am i sure" so ended up looking at the lowry website,
we going to springsteen concert at old trafford, so looking to stay as close as poss, thought about city centre, but then considered the chaos as thousands try to get to the same place.
golden tulip is looking good at moment

Wot are you going to old trafford for??? just being nosey. The Tulip is just across the road from the theatre of dreams and I think there is a comfort inn further down but I may be wrong. I'll have a look on Satruday when I go to the match.

Hi David
The Lowry is definitely on the quays, I see every time I go to the footie, there is footbridge across the canal which brings you out near to the war museum and Old Trafford is only a spit from there.
Dave
Lancashire County Cricket Club at Old Trafford has a lodge with 68 rooms at the ground. A novel place to stay and only 5 mins walk from the 'Theatre of Dreams'.

sounds good enough for me.
tried the lancs cc peter, didn't have have rooms for the dates wanted
but it would have been good, big cricket fan, so seeing bruce and staying at LCC would be really good.
