Hi heres a link to a website that may help you http://rs-newyork.menupages.com/
It depends if you have any DDs in your family - we are looking to visit American Girl here (http://www.americangirl.com/stores/experience_cafe.php) in April. If you have boys perhaps not.

Ellen's Stardust Diner next to the Winter Garden Theatre (where Mamma Mia! is playing) is great fun for families. The waiting staff are dressed in 50's style clothing and take turns to sing at the mike whilst you eat. If a member of your party has a birthday they will bring an Ice Cream sundae with a sparkler in it to your table and the whole restaurant sings Happy Birthday! :d:

I can recommend the New York Cheesecake with hot fudge sauce, its to die for :tounge:

I know is part of a big chain but i love Bubba Gumps in Times Sq, the servers are fantastic, and the food is great, good atmosphere all round. :)
If you like seafood try this http://www.oysterbarny.com
It's in Grand Central Station but don't be put off by that, it is superb, well worth a visit.

There are a Red Lobster and Olive Garden at Times Sq, along with other chains such as Outback and TGIs nearby. We found the Red Lobster to be the best of them all- charging no more than Florida state prices (most other restaurants load the prices for being in Manhattan!!). The portions, service, quality and price at Red Lobster simply couldnt be beaten!
I know many people want to try "different places" but we tend to stick with what we know (DH isnt keen on posh or deli style restaurants!!) so I cant recommend any hidden New York gems Im afraid!!
Go to chowhound.com and click on Manhattan and you can search or ask for what you need.
The comments are written by locals who are a bit more discerning.
Can also look at Florida too.
