Hi Guys,
I need to make this as an announcement rather than point people to our rules and regulations to hopefully explain things.

As we have had problems in the past and we are still having some minor problems now with charity or collection type threads then we have to put a blanket ban on all such threads.

It is very hard for the moderators to decide what should be allowed and what shouldn't. If we do allow one and not another, the moderators then spend all their time explaining why one was allowed and why one wasn't.

So can I please ask everyone not to post requests for money. I know there are a lot of very worthy charities out there that need support and I'm all for people donating to various charities, however it's not really fair on the moderating staff here to ask them to moderate such posts especially where money is involved. I think the only fair way is to ask for collection type requests not to be posted on the DIBB.

If you feel strongly that something does warrant a post for a collection or charity, because it's something out of the ordinary and has safeguards in place so that the money can only go to the registered charity, etc, then please contact the Moderators to seek approval first. We don't want to be uncharitable but at the moment it is an unmanageable and awkward situation for the moderators and admin of this site.

I hope you will understand.

Regards
Stu.
