We have a dilemma in that our youngest DS was supposed to go to Guernsey with his school next May, but the price has gone up dramatically due to a change of hotel and DH and I aren't happy with it and think for a little bit more, we could all go to DLP instead. DS is not bothered about going to Guernsey, though he can go if he wants to (not like he hasn't been before though). The school is giving parents the option of cancelling the trip.
However, I want to keep the cost down when booking DLP, especially as we're doing WDW later in the year. Can anyone point me in the right direction, travel, tickets, hotel, etc? We don't mind how we get there as long as we do.
Thanks.

holiday inn booked direct was significantly cheaper than booking through Disneyland Paris, and a much nicer hotel than the Santa Fe or Cheyenne (and cheaper than those)

We bought Annual Passes which worked out quite reasonably (about the same as a 3 day pass) and we got discounts on all our food and purchases.

are you close enough to drive?

We drove and loved it ! About 45 quid return and hubby won more thwn that on the bandit on the ferry LOL. Paid just 50 quid per night for the Mytravel Explorer and bought AP's plus 10% off from sponsor. Squeezed in another trip the following year as half term fitted in and stayed in a few different places as we also did a whirlwind Paris City rip.

Cheapest we've ever done is self drive & mobile home accomodation booked through Sun (newspaper) holidays. A real bargain.

Several campsites near to DLP try Canvas holidays, Eurocamp etc

If you are looking to drive I would recommend you stay at the Mariott Village d'Ille de France resort, where you can book a 2-bedroom town house on-line (www.marriott.com) for €179 per night for the May half-term week.
173.00(EUR)per night Rate rules Reserve a Room
Spring Break *2.5Bath Townhouse* Max 6ppl* King/Twin& Sofa bed *Fully equipped kitchen* Living room(TV/DVD)& Dining area* Patio

You might find cheaper elsewhere but you will not find better - certainly not better value for money.

we flew from newcastle into charles de gaulle airport and we stayed at the my explorers hotel which is not a disney owned hotel but is fabulous!.
It is still on the disney site and it caters for families of 5 which we had quite a job finding. You get an ajoining room which is just through a door which we kept open at night.
The hotel was brill with a masive pirate ship for kids to play in.One half being in the pool and the other in the play area.
Food was great .This hotel is cheaper than the santa fe which i didnt hear very good reports of.

There is still a transport bus to pick you up every 10 mins to take you to the entrance of dlp.

E mail me for more info if needed.

We are off in Feb for 5 days, 4 nights during half term. We paid £440 for the 4 of us staying at the Hotel Cheyenne with park tickets for the duration of our stay and breakfast each day.
We then used our Tesco vouchers to pay for the Eurotunnel, the cost was £112 return which was a quarter of that in Tesco vouchers.

We booked the hotel direct with DLP and the crossing direct with Eurotunnel.

We were more than happy with this price.:)

The breakeven point for the restricted APs versus daily tickets is about 3 days, so if you are getting length of stay tickets for 5 days Leanne it might be worth seeing at the AP desk if you could upgrade them to APs for little or no cost. :wavey:

you can't upgrade Length of stay tickets that come with a package unfortunately.

Thanks for the tip Hal but i think Mulan may be right in that you can't upgrade the tickets that came in the package.
Also after this trip in Feb we will be going back to WDW in Dec 08 and then hoping to go to WDW again in August 09 so not much chance of affording DLP in Feb 09.
