View Full Version : Easter Mayhem!!
Hi,
We booked to go during the Easter Holidays without realising this is one of the busiest times!!
We arrive on Tue 11/03 for 15 days and Easter weekend starts on Friday 21st.
The books say that March is generally quiet (as long as Easter doesn't fall in it!!)
Does anybody have any idea whether we will have some quiet time in the first week, or will the hordes have descended then as well.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated to assist in the itinerary planning.
Thanks
JACS

We are going at the same time. We've been at Easter before and didn't find it the busiest time, that was July. I'm not sure whether Easter falling in March this year will make the crowd levels better or worse as lots of schools and colleges have Spring Break around that time too.
We are hoping the week before will be fairly quiet with the main crowds building up around the holiday weekend so we plan to do the parks before and after. If it is really busy just plan to hit the parks early, do the big attractions first and use Fastpass, it really works.
We've decided to do the Pirate and Princess Party at MK on the 14th as the park will be less crowded then and we can hopefully do all the rides without much queuing.
Happy planning!
The first time we went to Disney was in the main Easter holidays due to my cousins still being at school. TBH it was very busy, in particular the MK, but one tip we did pick up was to go to Epcot when the MK has it's special Easter day parade - Epcot was like a ghost town as they were all at the MK :thumbs-up
This was a number of years ago, before the fast pass :omg: so like Lynn says as long as you get to the parks early and grab fast passes for the main rides, it'll be easier.

Thanks for the advice I will use it in my planning.

We always go in the Easter holidays and my advice would be to do the parks early in the day and then bale out if you feel it getting too busy. You can always come back after a break but we find you can get most of the rides done before the queues get too long. I remember one day we went to MK early and had a lovely morning and then we had lunch at CRT and when we came out it was heaving and we were glad to get out! We couldn't believe how many people were piling in so it was good to be leaving! That time of year it's all about planning - make sure you have your meals booked as well if you want to eat in particular places as walk-ins will be rare in park/resort restaurants. You can always cancel if you need to but a spur of the moment booking will be less likely. We love going that time of year - I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Depends on where you are. In our county we are off from Good Friday for a fortnight. Neighbouring counties have Easter long weekend, then back for a fortnight, then a fortnight off.

First time we went was 28th December 2001. We didn,t know what to expect but New Years Eve was heaving in Epcot, but we stayed and went with the flow....it was amazing!!

as previously said depends on where you are
my kids are off from 1st - 15th April
they also have bank holiday monday on 24th and an inset day on the 28th so only at school 3 days in a 3 week period
therefore we looked from 21st March (Good Friday) till 13th April as its almost 3 weeks
were now traveling 24th (Bank Holiday Monday) - 11th to give them a couple of days before returning to school
I expect it to be busy hopefully as its following Easter may not be too bad, but then we were there for July & Augst last year and that was not so bad as we were expecting either
At the end of the day its Florida / Orlando / and themeparks, warmer weather, cheaper shopping and more golf or B&Q for bank holiday weekend decorating and rainy Blighty
So I know where I would rather be

We've been at easter before and it was busy but with a bit of planning it's not that bad! we are going again on the 9th so I'm expecting the first week to be ok and it to be busier the second week, I can't wait :spin:
