sims game wont work on laptop

Hi all,i have a new lappytoppy that dh brought me,and it runs vista. I found my complete sims collection in my old lapytop bag,and tried to install it but i keep getting an error message and it wont install. Is it because of the vista and if so is there anything i can do to get it to install on here?

Thanks sue that info is for sims2 mine is only the sims original complete collection,so not sure if it will work! but ill give it a try

Try right clicking on the install programme and selecting "run as administrator" as sometimes that works using Vista.
