Hi there
thinking of getting laptop for DDs birthday and DS thinking of using his xmas/birthday money to buy one (they are forever fighting over the pc in the house lol) and seen Tesco/Asda doing deal for laptops £300....does anyone have any opinion as to whether or not they would be any good?
DD only 10 and uses mainly for homework/talking to pals on msn and bebo page
DS likes to msn/bebo/mix music

dont want to be spending over the odds for this and wondered what the thoughts of the more technical dibbers were:)

thanks

I bought an acer from Tesco for my 17 year old son as a last minute pressie for xmas and he is pleased with it he can go on msn and chat and search for lots of things he said it is fine for what he is going to use it for. It would be ideal for a 10 year old it was £299

we bought my DD an Acer Aspire for £299 for Christmas. She is 14 and uses it for pretty much as mentioned above. MSN / Bebo / Facebook O and a bit of homework LOL

We did a 'comparison' of all the cheaper end laptops before we bought and the Acer came out tops.

thanks folks :-) Sounds ok then - just always wary cause I dont know the brand name...see what power advertising has over us huh lol...but if others have bought and seems ok for what they are using it for then sounds good :) Plus it means i'll get the main pc back for me lol!!
