Hi all, we are going to wdw in july, and are there on ds 4th birthday on the 17th, thought as we were there we could make it special and have dinner with the characters, we thought crystal palace as he is mad about pooh, tigger and friends. I've got a couple of questions, first, when is the best time to book, when you book do they give you a set time to dine or do you choose a time, and can you order a birthday cake when you book or do you do it when you get there? also do you have to pay a deposit, sorry for rambling on thanks all. :wavey: :wavey:

You need to do a ADR - Advanced Dining Reservation.
You can do these up to 180 days in advance.
They can only be done over the telephone, and you dont need to pay anything untill you actually have your meal.
Have a look at the sticky in this thread - it explains it all, and gives the number to ring. I used my mobile, and it cost about £1.50 to phone, so its not too bad.
Cheers

They will ask you what time you wish to dine and then check if that time is available. If you are planning on seeing a parade or the fireworks that evening then you will need to plan around those with your timing.:)
Make sure you pick up a birthday badge from guest services and he can wear that. We preordered our sons cake as we wanted a particular one and they needed noticed.
If you want the normal standard cake you can ask upon arrival or book it when you call to make your ADR.
