We are going to WDW in August this year due to school holidays!! One benefit is that we have free Dining. Will we need to have ADR's for every TS meal? We were planning on "going with the flow" this year as we are not too worried about getting everything done, but this means we will not know before hand where we are going on which day. In the past I have always done a rigid itinerary so it wouldn't have been a problem to book a restaurant at the corresponding park/resort, but this year will be different.

Yes you probably will the restaurants get booked up at the best of times and when it's free dining too you will be lucky to get into without ADR's I know what you mean about not being too rigid, but you can always try and change them on the day if possible, better than being disappointed we saw loads of people getting angry at being turned away last year

Free dining will make table service restaurants very busy. Remember you can easily cancel ADRs if they don't fit in with your plans nearer the time, but I wouldn't go without if you're on the DDP or you could have a real problrem finding places to eat.

We went last August with free dining and will be again this year. No way would we go without making all our ADRs, the restaurants were always full although breakfast and lunch times were not as busy. The more popular ones were though.

Better to make ADR's and then cancel or change them, instead of being disappointed not being able to get in where you want.
We have nine nights on the DDP and are planning to book 3 signature restaurants which use 2ts credits, and then for another 3 nights book normal ts restaurants. That leaves us 3 nights free to go with the flow and perhaps just have a counter service or take away if we're tired.

We also went last August with free DDP for five nights, and on the two occasions we were in MK, there was a notice outside Guest relations saying that there were no more TS reservations available. So I guess that you would be better making the reservations.
Be warned though that despite our careful planning using the various crowd calendars, our itinerary was shot when Disney announced Pirates and Princess Party dates for August, which meant we then had to rearrange our days in MK and the other parks, and corresponding changes to ADRs!! For some reason, they don't seem to announce these dates until 4 months before the event.
