River Country?

What happened to it? I intended to visit as it seemed quieter than BB and TL. Is it going to reopen and if so is it worth a visit? :cool:

Unfortunatley River Country was closed a while ago, with no plans to re-open it yet.

I noticed when we were in WDW in September that River Country had been removed from all of the signposts which isn't a good sign for it reopening in the future!

The main reason they closed it was due to bacteria in the lake and they had public health concerns.

What happens next? - anyones guess at the moment.

You're missing nothing Jools. It was a dump IMO. The big lake that people swim in was full of dead fish - lots and lots of them. YUK!!!! We were there in August 2001 and were so sorry we'd used a plus option on this awful, awful place.
I think that as it was the original "water park" it was miles behind Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon anyway, but we had already been to BB & TL, and there was just no comparison.
