losing wireless connection in standby mode

Every time i put my computer in standby mode i lose wireless connection. I have to repair connection every time! sometimes i have to unplug router and computer. its a real pain. sometimes it wont repair at all!
i have next doors wireless in range (which is security locked)
plus another neighbours belkin (which is not secured)
im with sky, router is netgear (dosent say model number on it) wireless adapter is linksys wus854gs ver 2.1
any ideas? cheers folks. ;)

How long do you leave it to reconnect on its own, it might not be instant as I guess the connection will drop when your PC goes into standby.

it never re-connects on its own. I always have to right click and repair. most of the time that dosent seem to work and i un-plug every thing and start from scratch
