Advice of Comfort Inn Universal

Hi. I am visiting Orlando for the 5h time, love it loads! This time I am staying at the Comfort Inn Universal near International Drive.

Since booking, I have read some rather bad reviews on the hotel. I have travelled with TCD numerous times and would not think they would promote such a hotel. I wonder if any users have stayed there before and could share experiences??

Welcome to the dibb Aarti....I've not stayed there but two of my sons and their g/f's are staying there in December....I was a bit worried about some of the reports too.....but I've had an e mail from two people on trip advisor who had stayed last year and they told me it's really not that bad....my boys aren't bothered anyway as they're only wanting somewhere cheap to sleep....lol you can let me know how it is when you get back

Hi my DH stayed there on our first trip (we dint go together) Its a really nice hotel about 3 floors a nice little shop in reception and a small dinning area. The pool is nice, we like villas now so probably would stop in a hotel again but if we did we would deffinatley stay here.

Thanks all for your replies!! It's only really somewhere to sleep while we are out in the day. As long as it's clean and functional thats fine!! Will keep you posted, but need to get to use the forum a bit better!

We stayed there in April last year and sorry but we wouldnt go back, nor would i recommend this hotel to anyone else. It is fine for a base and as it was our first trip to Florida maybe my expectations were a little high. Our carpet was wet through with the very old air conditioning system leaking, the reception girls were great got a humidifier up there straight away. Also had to ask for bathroom floor to be washed after 10 days. Just be careful about leaving anything of value in your room as thankfully nothing of ours was stolen but met a coupl on honeymoon and some of there friends had stuff taken, a camera and a very expensive silk nightdress.

All in all it is a bed which i must say were very comfortable, the breakfast was o.k, we ate there most mornings, and the free transport is a godsend aswell.

We stayed there in 2005 and had a fab time. Great location, free shuttle bus, complimenary breakfast was ok, rooms basic but clean. An excellent base.

We stayed there May last year, as someone else has said it is good as a base, breakfast was fine. I don't think it is as bad as some people say but I don't think I would recommend. Then again people all have different ideas of what is good and bad.
