Hi,

I would like to contact POFQ to request Building 5 for our stay. Any ideas how I can do this please? Can I email them? or phone cheaply? Also, as I booked through an agent, I'm not sure that I have a Disney booking reference, although a 2nd number did appear on the booking info from that agent which is a 7 digit number starting 344. Is this my Disney reference number? Can I contact them if I don't have a reference?

Sorry to ask so may question, just starting to stress a little about forthcoming hols!

At this stage there's no point getting your travel agent to add such a request to your original booking (which is normally the first advice).

Your best bet now would be to call or fax the front desk in a couple of days time (about 2-4 days before you arrive). They should then be able to look your reservation up by name and arrival date if you don't have the right reservation number.

Phone: 0044 1-407-934-5000
Fax: 0044 1-407-934-5353

It's a small resort anyway, so there really aren't many poor locations, apart from maybe car park views, and you can always request a different room if you're not happy with what you're offered when you check in.

You can get cheap calls by using a company like www.telediscount.co.uk (http://www.telediscount.co.uk) whose rates are 1p per minute to the USA, just dial their access number first (0844 861 78 78) before dialling the resort.

Hope you have a lovely time at Port Orleans, it should be really quiet at the parks so apart from a bit cooler weather it should be great.

Hi Jackie

Just to add to that, when we stayed at POFQ we were disappointed to get allocated a room in Buiding 1 as we had hoped for one nearer to the pool, food court etc. Basically we arrived at 1.30am US time due to a 7 hour plane delay and the resort was fully booked.

Anyway, while we wouldn't have chosen the location it ended up being fantastic. We were right by the waterway to DTD, with a lovely view of fountains and beautiful scenery; the central area was only a few minutes' walk.

We were glad we ended up there despite being a bit disappointed initially, so the reason for my long and rambling post (!) is to say that I'm sure you'll be pleased with whatever you have :thumbs-up

When we stayed here 2 years ago, we had a ground floor room facing the car park, it was building 4 and it was the middle section.was going to ask to be moved but decided to stay . It worked out great we where far enough from the car park and had a lovely garden at our door with seats in it and squirrels jumping about the trees which our DD loved, plenty of trees blocking the view of the car park so you could not really see anything and it was extremely quiet. which was completly different from those facing the pool. a few times when we came home about 11:30 or later there was quite a few people about the pool, and sometimes was quite noisy, people we met had a room here, and they said the security had to be called to the area because of this, although i did not think it was that bad, but then i was not trying to sleep there.

No probs Jackie, let us know how you get on if you do phone them. Not sure what hours the Room Allocators work though, so maybe a fax might work out best? Of course, please remember that nothing is guaranteed.

One of the Front Desk supervisors at POR told me last year that they don't get many fax requests at all (maybe a couple a day) so when they do get them, they are at least read rather than getting lost in a pile of similar requests. If nothing else it says that you have given some thought to your stay and are actively looking forward to it, and they do like that.

By the way, if you happen to get a chance to pick up an extra copy of the free resort information literature that they hand out at the front desk when you check in, anything that you could bring back would help me with my website. In case it's of use to you, older copies are already on my site - www.portorleans.org (http://www.portorleans.org) and select on the French Quarter button and click on the Sassagoula Times link. Hope you find it useful.

So did you get the location you wanted Jackie? There's another similar thread going on at the moment (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=196038) and I wondered how you got on.
