View Full Version : Parks that require two days

We are going to Florida for the first time in July for 21 days. From what I have read, given the size of parks and the time of year certainly MK and Epcot will require 2 days to do them justice. My question is, would you do two consecutive days at each park or split the two visits up?
My first draft itinerary has the 2 days at each park together but now I'm not so sure. As we are not staying on Disney property its also quite hard to avoid EMHs with 2 consecutive days in any particular park.
TIA

Personally I would split the Epcot days - World Showcase does not open until 2 hours after Future World anyway - so maybe best to aim to do that part from midday onwards and go elsewhere or have a lie in that day lol
I would not like to do the same park 2 days in row, but maybe that's just me??
What time of year are you going? Can't figure it from 190 days lol
EMH does not make that much of a difference at certain times and unless you want to be in that park early on a morning EMH day (for example, many Disney guests go to morning EMH and then leave midday so crowds thin out again.

We usually do Epcot over 2 days, one an early start for the rides in Future World and one with a later start for World Showcase and Illuminations.

personally i would keep them together because then you ve got epcot out of the way and you can concentrate on th other parks
on the first day id get up early like you usually do with the time difference and do the future world and then we usually do it all in one day but if you want to split them up you can have a nice big breakfast or go round future world again on the second day cos your never tired
then go round world showcase about 1 so you get to see the fireworks later and also one tip is to go to the mexico side first so when you get to england u can av fish nd chips and wath the fireworks and then go to canada
anyhow if u wanna do world showcase later in the holiday when ur tired u can have a lie in

On the same subject, can i please ask, do you guys think that Universal and IOA both merit 2 days?
Thanks

More important than the consective/non-consectutive issue would be the busy days guide - and do them in the order that tells you, rather than wether to do them together.
Doing parks on recommended non busy days can really make a difference.

Thanks all for your responses. Lots of food for thought.
Hey I'll need a holiday after all this planning
i dont think i would do 2 consecutive days but thats just a personal choice i think you can quite easily do ioa and universal in a day each!

I like to mix things up, and like to go to most parks more than once. I wouldnt do the same park 2 days in a row, I'd rather have then a few days apart.

I think you can do universal and islands of adventure in 1 day.

It really depends on how busy they are, and also if you like them enough. Some people find that a day in each or even a day for both is enough for them. I personally like to spend two days in each, if it's a quiet time of year maybe a day and a half, but I love the parks.
As for whether or not to split up your days at the same park, I would say yes, it just adds a bit more variety throughout the holiday.

I would split them up.
We usually do two days at each park (except AK, I don't think it needs it and it closes earlier than the others), but we do an early start one day, and home whenever the kids are flagging (anytime from 3pm onwards!), then another visit where we arrive in the afternoon and stay for the fireworks.
Obviously, you need to do all the serious busy rides on the early day, the second visit is more laid back, return to a few favourites and do more strolling around. I take more photos this visit too!
When planning this, don't schedule an early start day the morning after a late night though (I'm assuming you will have kids with you?).
And be prepared to be flexible. Some parks you will be keen to go back to, and others may not bother you so much. I love Epcot (World Showcase) personally, but my DD's get a bit bored, and it is a lot of walking, so they get tired. They would quite happily have given a return visit a miss. (But I wanted to see a concert!!)
So some of it will be down to how your family enjoys each park.

I think if you want to go on all the rides and see all the shows and not have to rush around like a loon, you need 2 days at all of them. Or at least a day and a half at some? There are still things I haven't done after 2 trips, and I'm sure there are still things people haven't done after more than that?
You can keep going back time after time....and guess what, people do!!!! :pgig:

We spent a month there last AUgust / September and we found it much more relaxing / enjoyable to just come and go as you please rather than sticking to a regimented itinary
You will be suprised how tiring it can be and trying to do everything to a plan can also be a recipe for disaster
We found ourselves doing a number of half dayy visits across our stay
We used to head out early, go back to the villa to chill when we had had enough,
Alternatively we would visit or return later in the afternoon early evening when things quieten down
After all most tickets will allow you to come and go as you please
If you have a 21 day ultimate ticket you can come and go as you please with the Disney Parks. You might want to have a later start some days and stay the fireworks at night, as the parks will be open late in July.

due to the time of year I usually go I have a busy day guide, any special events (ie MNSSHP) park opening times and wait until I get there.. I look at the 5 day forecast and choose a park from there ..
I couldn't stick to a rigid itinerary due to rain, tiredness, sore feet, temperatures, length of lines etc all these things have a bearing on our choice for the next day..
I always have 2 days in BGs, Epcot, MK and Seaworld (choice with SW not necessity)
I wouldn't do any park consecutively unless there was something special on that warranted it.. if they had a flex ticket to cover 21 nights It would be perfect as I dont even like having to decide where to put the 14 days in a 21 day stay LOL

i personally wouldn't want to do the same park 2 days in a row i think you can enjoy them more with fresh eyes on the second visit
